CNC Steel Fabrication Operator
Location: Cocoa, FL
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
Shifts: 1st and 2nd Shift
Starting Pay: Up to $27.00/hour
2nd Shift Differential: Additional $3.00/hour
Position Overview
We are seeking a CNC Machine Operator to support steel fabrication operations. The ideal candidate will have experience operating CNC cutting, sawing, or drilling equipment, along with the ability to read measurements, follow production specifications, and safely handle materials.
Experience with one or more of the following machines is valuable: Kinetic Plasma Table, Peddinghaus Saw/Drill Line, Peddinghaus Angle Master, or Ficep Beamline.
This position also involves operating overhead cranes, accurately marking fabricated parts, and regularly lifting materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Key Responsibilities

Set and adjust machine controls and operating parameters to meet production requirements.

Measure raw materials and verify dimensions against design specifications.

Select the correct material type, stock size, and dimensions for each job.

Transfer required measurements, markings, and production information onto materials.

Operate CNC plasma cutting equipment or sawing, drilling, and cutting machinery.

Maintain accurate records of production activities and material usage.

Perform routine preventive maintenance and assist with troubleshooting equipment issues.

Safely operate overhead cranes and material transfer or conveyor systems.

Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with workplace safety procedures.
Required Qualifications

Previous experience operating a CNC plasma table or performing sawing, drilling, or cutting operations.

Ability to read a tape measure accurately to within 1/16 inch.

Basic math skills for measurements and material calculations.

Ability to safely operate overhead cranes and material handling or transfer systems.

Ability to stand for extended periods and regularly lift up to 50 pounds.

Ability to work in environments with varying hot and cold temperatures.

Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe, organized work area.
Preferred Qualifications

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, including symbols and notes.

Familiarity with Tekla PowerFab.

Shift Information
First- and second-shift opportunities are available. Second-shift employees receive an additional $3.00 per hour shift differential.
