⚙️ CNC Programmer
📍 Adlington, UK | 🕒 Full-time (39 hours per week, Monday–Friday)
About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team.
This is a key role responsible for developing and optimising CNC programs to support efficient, accurate machining operations. You will play an important part in ensuring high-quality production, reducing downtime, and continuously improving manufacturing performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Programming & Process Development
Develop and optimise CNC programs using CAM software (e.g. Mastercam, Siemens NX, Fusion 360)
Interpret engineering drawings, 3D models, and technical specifications to generate accurate toolpaths
Select appropriate tooling, cutting parameters, and machining strategies
Validation & Continuous Improvement
Simulate and verify CNC programs to identify and resolve potential issues
Maintain and update program libraries and supporting documentation
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality
Collaboration & Production Support
Work closely with production, quality, and design teams to ensure manufacturability
Provide technical support to CNC machinists during setup and production
Operate CNC machines when required for trials or to support production needs
Health, Safety & Standards
Promote a strong safety culture, including BBSO and near-miss reporting
Ensure safe working practices and support stop-work authority initiatives
Maintain awareness of product developments and ensure processes remain aligned
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
Proven experience in CNC programming within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment
Proficiency in CAM software and strong understanding of G-code and CNC operations
Strong knowledge of machining principles, materials, and tooling
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and 3D CAD models
High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
Competence in Microsoft Office
Desirable
Familiarity with ISO standards and quality processes
Experience with offline programming and process optimisation
