Job Summary

Summary
Mass General Brigham and the Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Neurology seek a thoughtful, highly organized Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) to support the Implantable Brain-Computer Interface Collaborative Community (iBCI-CC). The CRC will contribute to meaningful projects, help keep day-to-day program activities moving, and build relationships across a diverse, national community.

The iBCI-CC brings together people with lived experience, care partners, patient and disability advocates, clinicians, scientists, engineers, industry representatives, regulators, funders, and other partners who share the goal of advancing the development, safety, effectiveness, availability, and equitable access of implantable brain-computer interface (iBCI) technologies. The community creates an inclusive, pre-competitive forum for addressing complex challenges, developing shared approaches, and supporting education within the field and beyond.

Reporting to the iBCI-CC Program Manager, the CRC will support Workgroups, stakeholder engagement, meetings, communications, and project deliverables. The CRC will contribute to projects that improve public understanding of iBCIs, elevate the priorities of people living with paralysis, and translate stakeholder perspectives into useful resources and recommendations. The position offers opportunities to build project-management and subject-matter expertise while helping ensure that lived experience is meaningfully incorporated throughout the community’s work.

This role calls for initiative, reliability, a willingness to learn, excellent follow-through, and clear, respectful communication. The successful candidate will be comfortable taking responsibility for assigned tasks, asking questions when needed, and collaborating with people whose backgrounds, expertise, communication styles, and access needs vary. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with physicians, scientists, people with lived experience of paralysis, graduate and medical students, and employees of medical device companies.

Following established policies, procedures, and study protocols, provides assistance on clinical research studies, including recruiting, evaluating, and consenting patients for studies; collecting and organizing patient data; scheduling patients for study visits; performing clinical tests such as phlebotomy, EKGs, etc.; and maintaining and updating data generated by the study. Candidates who are in the process of completing their bachelor's degree have a six-month grace period from their hire date (up to one year if starting on a per diem basis) to provide degree equivalency verification.

Essential Functions
-Reviews proposals for compliance with sponsor and organizational guidelines; verifies that all sponsor requirements are met.
-Recruiting patients for clinical trials and conducting phone interviews.
-Verifies the accuracy of study forms and updates them per protocol.
-Prepares data for analysis and data entry.
-Documents patient visits and procedures.
-Assists with regulatory binders and QA/QC Procedures.
-Assists with interviewing study subjects.
-Assists with study regulator submissions.

Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required
