We’re looking for a Civil Engineer to join our growing Civil & Structural team.
You’ll work across a range of projects, developing civil engineering designs from concept through to delivery. The role will give you the opportunity to take ownership of your own design packages, work alongside other engineering disciplines and build your technical experience across a variety of projects.
You’ll have experience using Autodesk Civil 3D and MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage, with knowledge of AutoCAD and an interest in developing your BIM and digital engineering skills.
What you’ll be doing
- Developing civil engineering designs covering areas such as drainage, earthworks, pavements and external works.
- Producing design deliverables including drawings, specifications, calculations and technical reports.
- Taking responsibility for your own design packages and supporting the delivery of larger projects.
- Working closely with structural and other engineering disciplines to coordinate designs and develop practical, buildable solutions.
- Supporting the coordination of underground services using 3D design tools.
- Attending site when required, including surveys and construction-stage activities.
- Contributing to technical discussions and helping resolve design issues as projects progress.
- Supporting project managers and senior engineers with programme, scope, fee and tender activities.
- Working to relevant standards, client requirements and quality processes.
What you’ll bring
- A degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Working towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with ICE.
- Experience in civil engineering design, ideally covering drainage, earthworks, pavement design and external works.
- Experience using Civil 3D and MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage.
- Knowledge of 3D underground services coordination.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work confidently with engineers, clients and other project stakeholders.
- An interest in developing your technical capability and progressing towards professional qualification.
