The position is based in Greenville, SC at the Sunshine House home office with limited travel; however, may require some visits to centers, conferences, and professional development.
Pay Range: $17-$19 her hour
Candidates with advanced education and experience in early childhood education may qualify for higher pay within the range. Regular increases are considered with additional education, stellar performance, and years of service.

Requirements
Summary of Responsibilities
The Accommodations Specialist is responsible for the review of special accommodations requests made by families during the enrollment process and after admissions. The Specialist will also be responsible for conducting professional development sessions with center leadership staff and teachers as well as supporting centers in continuing to provide reasonable accommodation related to meal modifications and various medical issues. Other requirements include excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and the ability to evaluate and solve problems.
The ideal candidate for this position must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, social work, psychology, pediatric health care (other related fields will be considered) and have two to five years of experience working with children. In addition, they must have a general understanding of the Americans with Disabilities Act, have proficient computer skills, and be willing to attend continuing education as needed.
Tasks and Duties
- Review accommodations requests to determine needed information to support the enrollment process
- Make enrollment decisions based on requested accommodations
- Conduct monthly spot-check reviews of current center accommodations
- Conduct monthly professional development with new center directors concerning the accommodations process
- Provide consultation and training for early educators to interpret and implement accommodation plans and medical action plans for children with special health care needs
- Meet with the accommodations director weekly to review current requests
- Maintain a basic understanding of licensing regulations related to meals, immunizations, first aid procedures, and related accommodations
- Complete documentation as required and submit in a timely manner
- Actively participate in the orientation and onboarding of new employees as appropriate, including but not limited to in-person and/or virtual training
- Implement short and long-range professional and program goals and objectives for self
- Recommend new policies, procedures, and professional development to attain high-quality results for self and others

- Comply with all safety, security, compliance and quality standards and procedures established by the company and regulatory authorities
Professional Knowledge
- Exceptional knowledge of developmentally-appropriate practice in early childhood
- Exceptional knowledge of widely-held expectations for children served in our early care settings
- Comprehensive knowledge of American with Disabilities Act
- Practical knowledge and use of chosen curriculum including the following: planning form and planning resources, applicable daily schedule, child portfolios as well as observations, work samples, and assessments
Professional Skills
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical assistance and consultation in early care settings
- Communicate clearly and honestly and work closely with colleagues
- Complete work with minimal supervision
- Ability to juggle a variety of duties at multiple schools at the same time
- Ability to occasionally travel to other areas when needed to help with special projects which may involve evening, weekends, or overnight stays
- Must be financially responsible and transparent with company funds
- Ability to complete required reports {weekly reports, P-Card Statements and Expense reports, action plans, etc.) thoroughly and on time
- Responds to requests from colleagues in a timely manner
