About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and competent Chargeman to oversee the operation, maintenance, and safety of electrical systems and utility facilities within our manufacturing environment. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and compliance of electrical installations and utility equipment, supporting uninterrupted production operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining electrical infrastructure and utility systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This position requires a hands-on individual with strong troubleshooting capabilities and a commitment to workplace safety.

What You'll Do

Electrical & Utility System Operations

• Operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical installations and utility systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities on utility equipment, including: Air Compressors Vacuum Systems Gas Farm Systems HVAC Systems DTV Systems Exhaust Ventilation Systems Fire Protection Systems PCWP and other facility support systems
• Ensure all electrical equipment is operating efficiently and in accordance with established maintenance schedules.

Safety & Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure all electrical installations and maintenance activities comply with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission) regulations and company safety standards.
• Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems and equipment to identify potential hazards and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Support the implementation of safe work practices and contribute to a strong safety culture within the facility.

Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement

• Diagnose and resolve electrical and utility equipment failures to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.
• Recommend and implement improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability and performance.

Data Monitoring & Reporting

• Collect, record, and analyze maintenance and operational data related to electrical and utility systems.
• Prepare maintenance reports and communicate equipment status, issues, and recommendations to supervisors and stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, inspections, and regulatory records.

Project Support

• Assist engineers and supervisors in equipment installation, commissioning, modification, and upgrade projects.
• Support facility expansion, improvement initiatives, and energy efficiency programs as required.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are achieved safely and effectively.

What You'll Need

Education & Certification

• Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
• Possess a valid Chargeman Certificate (A1 or A4) issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST).
• Registered and certified by the relevant regulatory authority in Malaysia.

Experience

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in electrical maintenance, facilities maintenance, or utility operations within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Experience in preventive and predictive maintenance practices is preferred.
• Fresh certified Chargemen may be considered for junior positions.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, and utility equipment maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Familiarity with troubleshooting electrical faults and equipment breakdowns.
• Understanding of safety regulations, lockout-tagout (LOTO) procedures, and electrical risk management.

• Willingness to work on shifts, standby duties, and respond to emergency maintenance requirements when needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in semiconductor, electronics, manufacturing, or industrial facilities environments.
• Knowledge of facility utilities, energy management systems, and building management systems (BMS) is an added advantage.
• Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, TPM, or Six Sigma is a plus.
