We are looking for a CNM Laborist excited to join a dynamic and growing practice of OB/GYNS and CNMs in the thriving community in Tallahassee, FL Come join us!

Role Description

As a CNM Hospitalist (Laborist), you will work on-site in a 24/7 dedicated labor and delivery unit in direct collaboration with OB/GYN and labor and delivery nursing teams. This role focuses exclusively on managing inpatient triage, labor management, uncomplicated vaginal deliveries, and inpatient postpartum care, providing critical support for hospital-based maternal care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Labor Management & Delivery: Manage low-to-moderate risk laboring patients, perform spontaneous vaginal deliveries, and provide immediate postpartum/newborn care.
• Triage & Emergency Care: Evaluate patients presenting to the OB Triage unit, perform non-stress tests (NSTs), assess rupture of membranes, and initiate care plans.
• Surgical First Assist: Provide first-assist surgical support for Cesarean sections when required.
• Collaborative Care: Consult and co-manage high-risk obstetric cases with OB/GYN back-up physicians.
• Patient Advocacy: Provide evidence-based, patient-centered care and counseling throughout the intrapartum phase.

Qualifications

• Education: Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a specialization in Nurse-Midwifery.
• Licensure: Unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) state license.
• Certification: Active certification as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB).
• Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of active intrapartum CNM experience preferred (full scope or hospitalist model).
• Schedule: Willingness to work a minimum of seven (7) 24-hour call shifts per month.
• Certifications Required: BLS and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).
