This role will be responsible for assisting the Project Engineer/Project Manager in a variety of opportunities including basic office procedures, engineering tasks, analysis, test, integration, and systems engineering.  The Intern will perform tasks independently while working closely with individual team members to ensure that objectives are met.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Learn company procedures and the correspondence process.

• Support the team members in the field or office as needed.

• Learn Safety and Quality Control programs and how to coordinate actions to address problems.

• Learn how to review and process submittal data, shop drawings, and coordinate submittals and deliveries. 

• Monitor/review weekly and monthly status reports and meeting minutes, change orders, etc. to understand process. 

• Attend progress meetings with Project Engineer/Project Manager to understand information required and what is necessary to address all outstanding issues related to the project.

• Understand processing close-out documents. 

• Learn how to maintain RFI logs and change order request logs.

OTHER PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

• Travel as required and as it relates to above duties or as directed by supervisor.

• Other duties that may arise from time-to-time and/or are commensurate with the title and position.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Actively pursuing a degree in Engineering or related field preferred.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Knowledgeable in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Familiarity with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and Microsoft/Inroads
