Essential Functions:

• Assists providers in conducting diagnostic tests within clinic, inpatient, and outpatient areas.
• Prepares effectively for the testing and explains testing procedure at different levels based on patient age.
• Records information obtained from diagnostic tests accurately and provides quality reports to ordering providers
• Communicates compassionately and effectively with patients and caregivers.
• Collaborates across boundaries with teamwork related behaviors.
• Assists with other clerical responsibilities such as billing and auditing, cleaning and disinfection of equipment, and answering the telephone.

Education Requirement:

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Post-Secondary school within a healthcare related field, preferred.

Certifications:

BLS, required.

Skills:

• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with patients of all  ages (pediatric to adult).
• Ability to function with flexibility and adaptability to an ever changing and fast paced environment.

Experience:

One year of healthcare related experience, preferred.

OCCASIONALLY: Biohazard waste, Climb stairs/ladder, Fume /Gases /Vapors, Interpreting Data, Lifting / Carrying: 0-10 lbs, Problem solving, Pushing / Pulling: 0-25 lbs, Sitting

FREQUENTLY: Blood and/or Bodily Fluids, Chemicals/Medications, Communicable Diseases and/or Pathogens, Decision Making, Flexing/extending of neck, Reaching above shoulder, Squat/kneel
