Overview & Responsibilities

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to join our Supply Chain & Procurement team in Abu Dhabi.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end purchasing process for mechanical, electrical, and fabricated parts supporting our engineering and manufacturing projects.

You will collaborate closely with internal engineering, quality, and planning teams, as well as external global suppliers, to ensure timely delivery, competitive pricing, and strict adherence to project timelines and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Issue and manage purchase orders (POs) for mechanical, electrical, and fabricated components according to project Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Monitor PO confirmations, track supplier delivery schedules, and continuously update data within the ERP system.
• Communicate proactively with suppliers to clarify order specifications, expedite critical deliveries, and resolve invoice or shipping discrepancies.
• Conduct regular follow-ups on open purchase orders and track delivery dates to support factory production schedules.

• Align procurement timelines with key project milestones; escalate material risks, potential shortages, or delays to the Purchasing Agent.
• Participate in BOM reviews to ensure accuracy regarding part numbers, lead times, and pricing in ERP systems.
• Support sourcing efforts for non-standard or custom components during low-complexity engineering changes.

• Work closely with Production Planners and Engineers to interpret technical specifications and assess supplier capabilities and capacity.
• Partner with Quality Assurance and Receiving teams to address non-conformances, quality claims, or physical delivery mismatches efficiently.

• Maintain clean, organized, and complete procurement records, including vendor quotations, order confirmations, material certificates, and compliance documentation.
• Strictly adhere to internal supply chain controls, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and company policies governing procurement and vendor management.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Previous experience in a purchasing, procurement, or tactical buying role, preferably within heavy machinery, manufacturing, industrial equipment, or oil & gas service facilities.
• Technical Aptitude: Ability to read and interpret Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering drawings, and technical part specifications (mechanical, electrical, and fabrication).
• Systems & Tools: Hands-on experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Skills: Strong negotiation, organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Work Style: Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed global organization.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Setting: Standard office environment with periodic presence in the local repair workshop/facility.
• Travel: Up to 10% domestic and international travel may be required for supplier visits, audits, or corporate alignment meetings.

Base Location & Work Schedule

​This is a full time, on-site permanent position based out of our Repair Facility in KEZAD Free Zone, Abu Dhabi.
