Function:

The VP, Business Development & Sales Support Manager is responsible for supporting the Bank’s small business growth strategy across branches, Business Development Officers (BDO’s), and Business Banker. This role provides centralized leadership to drive deposit and loan growth, strengthen bench talent, enhance coaching and development, and ensure alignment with CRA objectives and community partnerships.

The VP serves as the partner between sales execution, talent development, credit quality, and community engagement- ensuring sustainable growth across designated markets.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervises the day-to-day activities of direct report team including coaching and joint calling

• Providing guidance and mentoring for current Business Banker I in development of new banking relationships, servicing of existing client base, and achievement of assigned goals.
• Responsible for the mentoring and training of new business bankers and BDO’s
• Coaches team to provide advice to clients in complex, challenging, or important situations.

Strategic Leadership & Growth Execution

• Support a unified small business growth strategy; focused on playbook execution and CARE conversation.
• Works with retail leadership and Data Analytics to define proper Business Development parameters.
• Oversee small business portfolio performance across the business banking footprint/market.
• Identify priority industries and geographic focus areas (CRA targeted markets).
• Monitor and drive performance against production, profitability, and credit quality in achieving goals.
• Ensure pricing discipline with government entities and deposit franchise.
• Executes sales skills and service standards in support of the Bank’s Our Shared Future purpose, five values and core drivers.
• Partner with LOB leadership to align small business growth with overall bank strategy.
• Understand industry trends and collaborate with regional managers and sales coaches
• Success metrics determined through coaching and development with CARE process to ensure exceptional customer experience creating consistency across all markets, partnership with RM’s and Team leads to build out talent strategy, helping the BDO’s and BM’s around deposit franchise and acquiring new HH while enhance and deepening existing customer relationships

Sales Performance & Portfolio Management

• Net new small business deposit growth
• Net new loan originations
• Cross sell ratio per TM/Elavon/Elan
• New HH acquisition rate

Sales Support & Process Optimization

• Create consistency in sales routines, pipeline management, and reporting
• Improve coordination between BDO’s, BM’s and Business Bankers
• Implement best practices across markets
• Ensure tools, training, and support systems enable effective sales execution
• Partner with operations and credit to streamline onboarding and loan processes

CRA & Community Engagement Leadership

• Aligning small business strategy with CRA objectives and underserved market opportunities
• Increase concentration of small dollar line of credit and community focused lending
• Referral volume and conversion from community partners
• Support community events, sponsorships, and outreach strategies

Education:

Requires a four-year college degree or equivalent.

Experience:

Requires five to ten years of general business experience.

Physical Demands:

Operates a keypad device: 70-80%, operates electronic equipment 70-80% of the day.. Travels80-90% of the week. The primary parts of the body involved in performing these tasks are the fingers, thumbs, hands, wrists, elbows, legs, lower and upper torso, and feet. Standing is required. Sitting is required. Walking is required. Physical demands include travel by car to see customers, inspect construction sites, land developments, etc. Lenders also travel out of state to inspect projects, construction sites and meet customers. Requires the use of manual dexterity skills for typing and data entry up to 40% of the business day. Specific vision requirements include close vision of 18”-20” for computer work.
