Job Overview
Pulse is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Aseptic Pharmacist to join a specialist pharmacy team in Berkshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist with expertise in aseptic services to support the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care within a busy NHS environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with aseptic services, pharmacy production, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure the safe preparation, quality assurance, and governance of aseptically prepared medicines. This role offers the chance to contribute to service development and maintain the highest standards of patient safety and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist pharmaceutical support to aseptic services and pharmacy production units.
- Ensure the safe preparation and release of aseptically prepared products.
- Support compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Quality Assurance (QA) standards.
- Provide expert advice on aseptic preparation, risk management, and medicines governance.
- Contribute to validation, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and wider healthcare teams.
- Support the implementation of standard operating procedures and service developments.
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
Have significant NHS hospital pharmacy experience. - Demonstrate substantial experience working within aseptic services.
- Possess strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Quality Assurance principles.
- Have experience supporting pharmacy production and medicines governance processes.
- Be confident working independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
- Possess excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Previous experience working at Band 7 or Band 8a level is highly desirable.
