Job Title: ATM Technicians
Location: Johannesburg, South Africa

Position Summary:
The Deployment Services ATM Technician is responsible for preparing,
configuring, staging, testing, refurbishing, and maintaining Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) prior to deployment or redeployment. The role supports pre-staging, staging, valet, refurbishment, repairs, quality assurance, asset control, and reporting activities to ensure all ATMs are operationally ready and aligned to customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Staging & Configuration

• Coordinate the receipt, allocation, and preparation of ATM devices for staging and deployment.

• Install, upgrade, and configure ATM hardware components according to customer requirements.

• Load, configure, and maintain ATM operating systems, software, firmware, and security components.

• Perform technical configuration of ATM devices, including network, software, and EPP setup.

• Test and validate software images, upgrades, and fully configured devices before release.

Staging & Quality Assurance

• Stage and prepare ATM devices for deployment, ensuring readiness and accurate asset tracking.

• Conduct functional, hardware, and software testing to verify operational performance.

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve ATM hardware and software faults.

• Perform quality assurance inspections and ensure compliance with customer and company standards.

• Maintain accurate testing records, checklists, and device sign-off documentation.

Valet & Refurbishment Services

• Receive, inspect, assess, and process returned ATM devices and components.

• Perform refurbishment, repairs, cleaning, and restoration of ATM units and sub-assemblies.

• Configure, upgrade, and test ATM hardware and software following refurbishment activities.

• Prepare quotations, manage refurbishment workflows, and coordinate quality assurance processes.

• Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts usage, asset status, and refurbishment activities.

Collaboration & Reporting

• Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and stakeholders to support ATM deployment activities.

• Provide customers with timely updates on staging, refurbishment, and deployment progress.

• Identify recurring issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

• Maintain accurate operational records, technical documentation, and management reports.

• Support knowledge transfer, staff training, and adherence to operational procedures and standards.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or Certificate in Information Technology, Electronics, or any related field.

• Strong MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Copilot skills.

• Basic understanding of ATM software platform (XFS, ANDC, Activate).

• Good understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.

• Strong communication skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

• Basic networking knowledge.
