Job Description & Summary

A career within Actuarial Services, will provide you with the opportunity to contribute general insurance advice and consulting services to clients such as insurers, banks, regulators, and third party administrators. You’ll provide advice covering solvency, economic capital, risk management, mergers and acquisitions, company restructuring and risk control, financial modelling, underwriting, new legislation, and the efficiency of claims or reporting processes. Simply put, you might help analyse the impact that new regulation will have on an insurance company’s balance sheet or you could be revising businesses’ projections and making sure they have adequate reserves.

You will play an integral role in leveraging sophisticated actuarialsoftware to develop, test and run models that perform a variety ofcomplex calculations for our life, annuity, and health insuranceclients which includes the following but are not limited to:

• Supporting the audits of several of the largest insurers inthe world. This includes public, private and mutualinsurers. It also includes the insurance operations ofseveral banks and private equity firms.
• Primarily using Axis and Prophet but also using othervendor software or work on models developed by ourclients.
• Designing, building and testing new models for ourclients. We also convert existing models to modelssupported by other vendors. The models are used forfinancial and capital reporting, testing client’s models,and mergers and acquisitions activities.
• Using these actuarial models, our team also performsvaluation and reporting services for our clients as part ofour managed service offering.Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Participating in a wide range of projects and collaboratingacross multiple work streams or teams; consistentlydemonstrating creative thinking, individual initiative andtimely completion of assigned work.
• Consistently demonstrating teamwork dynamics byworking as a team member: understanding personal andteam roles; contributing to a positive workingenvironment by building solid relationships with teammembers; proactively seek guidance, clarification andfeedback.
• Ability to prepare deliverables within stringent deadlines.

• Demonstrating extensive thorough knowledge of, and/orsuccess in managerial roles involving, technical actuarialsubject matter specialization, especially in Life or Non
• Life industry and regulatory developments.
• Demonstrating some proven knowledge of databasestructures and data process flows.
• Demonstrates some proven abilities and/or success withusing actuarial software, preferably Axis or Prophet.
• Demonstrating some proven abilities and/or success as ateam leader: creating a positive environment bymonitoring workloads of the team while meeting clientexpectations and respecting the work-life quality of teammembers; providing candid, meaningful feedback in atimely manner; keeping leadership informed of progressand issues; answering questions and providing directionto less-experienced staff.
• Demonstrating some proven level abilities and/or successwith writing, communicating, facilitating, and presentingcogently; to and/or for all levels of industry audiences,clients and internal staff and management.Qualification
• Minimum Educational Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in any of the following areas of study;Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematical Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Mathematics, Economics, Other related fields of Study may be considered"Relevant Qualification
• Associate of the IAI / IFoA (or equivalent) required
• Fellow of the IAI / IFoA (or equivalent) Preferred or Actively pursuing the Fellowship of the IAI / IFoA (or equivalent)
• Certification requirement may be waived if the candidate has more experience in the relevant field"Experience - 5+ years
