A Day in the Life

Medtronic pioneered the field of neuromodulation and has a long-standing commitment to advancing the treatment of chronic pain through Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS) and Targeted Drug Delivery (TDD). More than 40 years later, we continue to innovate, combining clinical evidence, technology and deep therapy expertise to improve patient outcomes and expand access to care.

In this exciting opportunity as an Associate Therapy Sales Specialist, you will provide clinical, technical and Operating Room support to healthcare professionals using Medtronic Pain Therapies, with a primary focus on SCS and TDD. You will support the full therapy pathway—from patient selection and procedural planning to implantation, programming and follow-up—while helping to grow appropriate therapy adoption and Medtronic market share. You will also manage assigned inventory, demonstration equipment and programming systems to ensure reliable coverage of the installed base.
This is a field-based role covering Andalusia, with regular travel across the territory; the successful candidate is expected to be based in Murcia, Spain or the surrounding area.

 

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

·       Provide clinical and technical support during SCS trials and implants, TDD

pump implants and refills, programming sessions, follow-up visits and troubleshooting, in accordance with approved product indications and local procedures.

·       Promote and sell Medtronic Pain Therapies products and services within the assigned territory and customer accounts to meet or exceed agreed sales objectives.

·       Develop trusted, long-term relationships with pain specialists, anesthesiologists, neurosurgeons, nurses, pharmacy, procurement and other clinical and economic stakeholders.

·       Identify customer needs and therapy-development opportunities, support account plans and progress opportunities through the appropriate internal systems.

·       Train and educate healthcare professionals on patient pathways, product use, programming, procedural workflows and safe handling of Medtronic SCS and TDD technologies.

·       Coordinate case coverage and customer activities with the wider territory team, ensuring timely preparation, follow-up and a consistently high level of service.

·       Maintain accurate control of consignment stock, loaner and demonstration equipment, programmers and other assigned assets, including periodic inventory and operational checks.

·       Monitor market, competitor and customer activity, communicate relevant insights and feedback to Sales, Marketing, Market Development and other internal stakeholders.

·       Work in compliance with Medtronic policies, quality standards and applicable healthcare regulations.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

·       Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Nursing, Engineering or another relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and practical exposure.

·       This is a junior position. Previous experience in medical devices, hospital environments, clinical support, customer-facing roles or healthcare sales is valued but not essential; structured training will be provided.

·       Strong interest in chronic pain management and motivation to learn SCS and TDD technologies, clinical workflows and programming concepts.

·       Comfort working in hospital and Operating Room environments, or willingness to develop confidence in these settings through training and supervised field experience.

·       Good communication, relationship-building and customer-service skills, with the ability and willingness to learn how to explain technical information clearly.

·       Proactive, collaborative and well organized, with a responsible approach to learning, patient safety and field-based work.

·       Fluency in Spanish and a good working level of English.

·       Valid driving license and willingness to travel regularly across the assigned territory; flexibility to support scheduled procedures when required.
