Our business is led by a highly experienced MD focused on building a substantial advisory practice across Restructuring & Financial Advisory. We are currently looking for an Associate / Senior Associate to join our Financial Restructuring team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a broad range of restructuring and financial advisory engagements, supporting businesses, lenders, investors and other stakeholders through periods of financial and operational challenge.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on high-profile assignments across the region, gaining exposure to areas including:
- Financial restructuring and refinancing options, including assessing different capital and funding solutions
- Business and financial analysis to assess performance, liquidity, cash flow and debt capacity
- Cash flow forecasting and liquidity management
- Stakeholder and lender advisory, including supporting negotiations and communications
- Independent business reviews and options analysis to help clients and stakeholders understand their available options
- Turnaround planning, including cost reduction, working capital improvement and performance enhancement
- Supporting M&A and other value-maximising options where relevant to a restructuring situation
- Preparation of financial models, presentations and analysis to support key client and stakeholder decisions
Key Accountabilities
- Participate actively in engagements, working as part of a team and supporting senior team members across a range of projects
- Analyse financial and operational information to identify key issues, risks and opportunities within challenging situations
- Support the assessment of restructuring and strategic options available to businesses, lenders and other stakeholders
- Undertake financial analysis, modelling, cash flow forecasting and other quantitative work to support client engagements
- Assist with the preparation of reports, presentations and other materials for clients and stakeholders
- Act as a point of contact for clients on specific areas of assignments, providing updates to engagement managers and senior team members
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and other stakeholders
- Work independently on assigned tasks, managing priorities and delivering high-quality work within tight deadlines
- Contribute to business development activities and the wider growth of the Financial Restructuring team
Requirements
- Strong academic track record, ideally with a focus on Accountancy, Finance, Business or a related discipline
- Currently studying towards, or interested in pursuing, a professional qualification such as CA, HKICPA, CPA or equivalent
- 1-3 years of previous experience within professional services, financial advisory, restructuring, transaction services, audit or a related environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial and commercial information
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, with financial modelling experience advantageous
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet demanding deadlines
- Self-motivated, collaborative and adaptable, with a willingness to take on new challenges
- Detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality work
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage with colleagues, clients and stakeholders
- Fluent business-level English, both written and spoken; Cantonese or Mandarin is essential. Other languages are welcome
