Job Title: Associate Manager, Health & Safety - India

Job Description:

The Global Safety & Security organization is charged with protecting the people, brand, business operations and property of Salesforce by delivering trusted, innovative and scalable safety and security programs. We are seeking a Health & Safety Associate Manager (India) to join our team.

This position will report to the Manager of Health and Safety (India) and be responsible for the execution of health and safety programs across India in partnership with our key stakeholders. The role requires local, onsite presence in our Bangalore office, with primary responsibility for Salesforce Tower, Bangalore as the flagship India site.

What You’ll Actually Be Doing :

Manage the health and safety compliance and engagement programs in India.

This includes:

• Compliance, Hazard & Risk management 
• Hazard identification, risk assessment, planning and execution of risk mitigation controls.
• Conduct facility compliance inspections and audits with stakeholders to verify compliance to internal Health & Safety (H&S) standards and  all applicable local / regional regulatory requirements (including OSH Code, Shops & Establishment Act & Rules, Factories Act, BOCW Act, and applicable Karnataka state-level H&S regulations).
• Serve as the primary H&S point of contact for Salesforce Tower, Bangalore, coordinating closely with Real Estate & Workplace Services on shared safety obligations.
• Respond to hazards, incidents, injuries and illnesses via the incident management system.
• Serve in an on call rotation to manage response to health & safety incidents.
• Participate in the investigation, follow up, and root-cause analysis of significant safety incidents.
• Collaborate with business partners to implement appropriate corrective actions following incident investigations and inspection findings.
• Participate in the review of Global H&S Program documentation (as part of a taskforce team)  and develop India-specific as required by local laws or business needs.
• Develop, coordinate and facilitate H&S training and engagement for India employees.
• Deliver New Hire GS&S Onboarding Training for India employees.
• Provide H&S guidance for all on and off campus events, including large-scale events hosted at Salesforce Tower, Bangalore.
• Ensure remote and flexible employees have access to H&S training and resources to ensure their safety. Provide support to employees requiring Health and Safety assistance whilst traveling or required to evacuate their home.
• Monitor and respond to emerging health and safety threats, provide timely guidance to employees and leaders as needed.
• Guide and inform Health & Safety Committee representatives.
• Coordinate the execution of the Emergency Response Team (First Aid and Warden) program. This includes:
• Serve in an on call rotation to manage response to health & safety incidents.
• Develop and review emergency response plans for specified India office locations
• Develop, coordinate and deliver internal emergency response team training or coordinate  third party emergency response team training (e.g. First Aid, CPR & AED certification courses).
• Maintain emergency response team membership levels.
• Provide guidance to stakeholders regarding Emergency Preparedness and Response roles and responsibilities.
• Coordinate mental health first aid training, where required and approved 
• Coordinate and execute emergency response drills at specified sites, including  at Salesforce Tower, Bangalore.
• Coordinate restocking of first aid kits and inspection of AEDs with stakeholders.
• Liaise with Real Estate & Workplace Services on fire safety systems, evacuation protocols, and shared emergency infrastructure.

Serve as the centerpiece of the health and safety employee engagement program, CAREforce, in India.

This includes:

• Provide visible leadership by promoting a culture of CARE (Communicate, Assist, Respond and Educate) .
• Deliver guidance, resources and communications to promote safety awareness across all India offices, with Salesforce Tower, Bangalore as a key activation hub.
• Partner with business Partners and Business Resource Groups to deliver CAREforce enablement and engagement sessions relevant to the audience
  

Occupational Health

• Promote pan-india Health Services
• Oversee onsite health operations at the Bangalore Salesforce Tower, once established.
• Promote the Ergonomics program available for all employees
• Partner with stakeholders to identify psychosocial risks associated with operations and escalate to local and Regional H&S Leaders, to ensure they are addressed in programs such as the Global Mental Health Program, Psychosocial Risk Management Standard or India specific Mental Health Charter.

You’re Our Person If…

• Holds a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Brings 5+ years of experience in health, safety & preparedness program management or closely related services (public or private sector).
• Has technical knowledge of India's applicable health & safety laws and regulations (Shops & Establishment Act & Rules, Factories Act, BOCW Act, and Karnataka state-specific regulations).
• Communicates effectively and provides steady leadership during high-stress situations.
• Experience working in a Health and Safety Senior Administrator, Consultant, Associate Manager, or Manager role.
• AI proficient.
• Experience working across multiple disciplines and geographies.

Even Better If…

• Holds a relevant H&S certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent).
• Experience managing H&S responsibilities in large, multi-tenant commercial tower environments.
• Proficient in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Sites).
• Hands-on experience using Slack.
• Familiarity with Salesforce.com and our business solutions.
