THE OPPORTUNITY
Vir Bio is looking for an Associate Director, Clinical Scientist, to play a key role in the execution of oncology clinical studies, partnering closely with Clinical Operations, Medical Monitoring, Data Management, Biostatistics, and Regulatory teams to support study startup, conduct, analysis, and reporting.
This is a highly collaborative and hands-on role for an experienced clinical scientist who enjoys being close to the data, contributing to study design and execution, and helping advance programs from early development through key clinical milestones.
This role is based in our San Francisco headquarters with an expectation of being onsite at least three days per week.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Serve as the Clinical Scientist for one or more oncology clinical studies, supporting study startup, execution, data review, and reporting activities
- Partner cross-functionally with Clinical Operations, Medical Monitoring, Data Management, Biostatistics, Regulatory, and other teams to support successful study conduct
- Contribute to protocol and informed consent development, including authoring, review, and resolution of cross-functional feedback
- Perform ongoing clinical data review, identify trends and potential issues, and collaborate with study teams to ensure high-quality data
- Support site-facing activities, including investigator meetings, study training, and responses to protocol-related questions
- Contribute to the preparation and review of clinical study reports, regulatory submissions, safety reports, and other clinical documents
- Participate in the review and interpretation of emerging clinical data and support study analyses and presentations
WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU BRING
- Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, Medicine, or a related field (PhD, PharmD, MSN, NP, PA, or equivalent) preferred
- 7+ years of experience in oncology clinical research within biotechnology, pharmaceutical, CRO, or academic environments
- Experience supporting the design, conduct, and analysis of oncology clinical trials
- Strong understanding of GCP, ICH guidelines, and the clinical drug development process.
- Experience reviewing clinical trial data, identifying trends, and collaborating with cross-functional study teams
- Knowledge of protocol development, clinical trial operations, and study execution
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality work
WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE OFFER
The expected salary range for this position is $176,500 to $246,500 per year. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
Vir Biotechnology's compensation and benefits are aligned with the current market and commensurate with the person’s experience and qualifications.
