We are seeking an experienced actuarial professional to join our Actuarial Pricing team as Manager. The role offers end-to-end exposure to life insurance pricing and product development, with opportunities to influence business decisions and work closely with senior and cross-functional stakeholders.
Position Responsibilities:
Product Pricing & Development
- Lead or support pricing for new products, repricing exercises and product enhancements, balancing profitability, risk, customer needs and market competitiveness.
- Own key pricing deliverables, including assumption setting, actuarial modelling, profitability assessment, sensitivity testing and documentation.
- Prepare clear pricing recommendations and communicate financial and business implications to management and governance forums.
Governance & Business Partnership
- Ensure pricing work complies with corporate standards, governance frameworks, internal controls and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Maintain robust pricing documentation and support internal review, approval and audit processes.
- Identify key pricing risks, limitations and mitigation actions, and provide clear recommendations to management.
- Partner with Product, Distribution, Finance, Risk, Underwriting, Operations and other functions to deliver timely and commercially sound outcomes.
- Represent Actuarial Pricing in cross-functional initiatives, including new distribution strategies, regulatory changes and system implementations.
Performance, Projects & Team Contribution
- Monitor post-launch product and pricing performance, assess pricing adequacy and recommend actions where outcomes differ from expectations.
- Contribute to new business strategy and profitability management, including value of new business and return on capital considerations.
- Support the Head of Pricing and Chief Actuary on strategic, regulatory and company-wide initiatives, including management, committee and board materials where required.
- Enhance pricing models, methodologies and processes to improve efficiency, analytical insight and governance.
- Review actuarial work and provide guidance to junior team members, supporting technical development and high-quality delivery.
- Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team culture and take ownership of assigned deliverables
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related quantitative discipline.
- Approximately 5–7 years of relevant actuarial experience, preferably in life insurance pricing and product development. Candidates with less experience may be considered at Assistant Manager level based on capability and potential.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Progress toward qualification with a recognized actuarial body.
- Life insurance experience in Southeast Asia would be an advantage.
- Strong actuarial modelling, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate technical results into practical business insights.
- Effective communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with actuarial pricing software, advanced Excel or other analytical tools would be an advantage.
