The Boeing CompanyBoeing Secure Computing Solutions (SCS) is seeking a skilled and motivated Associate Digital Design Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in Pleasanton, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PCB design (schematic design, board layout, signal and power integrity analysis, etc.) and a passion for developing innovative electronic solutions. Designs typically include microprocessors, microcontrollers, FPGAs and CPLDs, power conversion, and various mixed-signal sub-circuits. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, prototype, and test printed circuit boards for various applications.
Position Responsibilities:
Design and develop printed circuit boards (PCBs) for electronic products, ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications
Specify the stack-up dimensions and desired electrical characteristics of the circuit board
Component selection
Analyze design tradeoff
Participate in design reviews
Ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective
Documentation
Board bring-up and testing
Support sustaining engineering efforts on existing PCB and system-level products
Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders on defining and understanding requirements, and program execution and establishing schedules
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
2+ years of related work experience and a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of related work experience and technical education
2+ years of experience in PCB design, assembly, verification, debugging, troubleshooting, and repair
Working knowledge with circuit design, schematic capture, and analysis with Mentor Graphics or other PCB design software
Working knowledge with industry standard electronic interfaces, including DDR4/5, PCIe, I2C, SPI/QSPI, and JTAG
Working knowledge in VHDL/Verilog Hardware Description Languages
Proficient in simulation, modeling, and analysis of electronic hardware
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
3+ years of experience in PCB design and PCB assembly, verification, debugging, troubleshooting, and repair
Fluent in VHDL/Verilog Hardware Description Languages
Experience designing board with PCIe, DDR, I2C, SPI, and Quad SPI protocols and interfaces
Experience with FPGA design and tools
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical information to team members, customers, and stakeholders
