An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an Associate Capital Markets professional to join a highly respected and globally connected financial institution in Singapore. This role offers you the chance to immerse yourself in the dynamic world of capital markets, working alongside experienced professionals who are committed to delivering innovative financing solutions across a broad investor universe. You will play a pivotal part in supporting senior team members, contributing to the development of a sustainable, client-focused primary capital markets business that spans Investment Grade, Leveraged Capital Markets, and Specialised Finance. The organisation is renowned for its inclusive culture, commitment to professional growth, and emphasis on collaboration across regional and global teams. With flexible working opportunities and access to advanced training resources, this position is ideal for someone eager to expand their expertise while making a tangible impact within a supportive environment.

  • Work at the heart of APAC’s capital markets landscape, collaborating with leading industry professionals and gaining exposure to high-profile transactions across multiple sectors.
  • Enjoy a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture that values knowledge sharing, teamwork, and continuous professional development through structured training opportunities.
  • Benefit from flexible working arrangements and the chance to build lasting relationships with clients, investors, and colleagues across regional and global networks.

What you'll do:

As an Associate Capital Markets professional based in Singapore, you will be deeply involved in every stage of the capital markets process—from initial opportunity identification through to transaction execution and post-close asset management. Your day-to-day activities will see you collaborating with senior team members on complex deals spanning Investment Grade loans, Leveraged Capital Markets transactions, and Specialised Finance projects. You will be responsible for producing insightful market research that informs strategic decision-making while also preparing critical documentation required for underwriting applications. By actively participating in both origination efforts and distribution phases—including direct interaction with clients and investors—you will help ensure each transaction is executed seamlessly. Your ability to foster strong relationships internally across regional teams as well as externally with stakeholders will be key to your success. In this role you will also contribute ideas for new business lines or distribution channels while helping drive initiatives that support the team’s revenue goals. Ultimately, your work will directly influence the growth of the organisation’s franchise within APAC’s vibrant capital markets ecosystem.

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of investor and sponsor requirements regarding risk appetite, structure, and pricing to assess underwriting risk and ensure successful syndication of all transactions.
  • Develop strong knowledge of Investment Grade, Leveraged Capital Markets, and Specialised Finance fundamentals including structure, financial modelling, due diligence, and documentation.
  • Produce and maintain high-quality market research on pricing trends, deal structures, participations, and investor activity for use in client presentations, pitches, underwriting applications, and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Support senior origination team members by identifying new opportunities through financial analysis, providing insights into pricing and liquidity, as well as assisting with syndication strategies and execution plans.
  • Oversee the preparation of underwriting applications, deal screening support memos, and other internal documents required for seamless transaction execution.
  • Play an active role in managing transactions post-financial close by engaging with clients and investors during distribution phases including Q&A sessions and settlement processes.
  • Drive various revenue-generating initiatives by evaluating bespoke deal opportunities, exploring new distribution pathways, and supporting emerging business lines such as ratings advisory or project bonds.
  • Collaborate closely with distribution teams regionally and globally to obtain up-to-date market insights that inform origination and distribution strategies.
  • Partner with colleagues across all regions within both product and coverage teams to broaden relationships with core clients by providing high-quality support for capital markets financing opportunities.
  • Build effective relationships with counterparts at other banking institutions as well as financial sponsors to maximise market profile, origination opportunities, deal efficiency, and collaboration.

What you bring:

To excel as an Associate Capital Markets professional in this organisation you will bring experience from roles within banking focused on capital markets products such as syndicated loans or bonds and with experience in project finance and/or leveraged finance. Your academic background should include at least an undergraduate degree from a reputable institution; further study such as CFA certification or a master’s degree would be advantageous. You are adept at conducting thorough financial analyses that inform pricing decisions or liquidity strategies while remaining sensitive to evolving investor appetites. Your interpersonal strengths enable you to build trust-based relationships both internally—with colleagues across regions—and externally—with clients or counterparties at other institutions. Advanced technical skills using Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel) plus Bloomberg are essential for producing high-quality research outputs. Above all else your approach is defined by reliability: you thrive when working collaboratively towards shared goals; you remain composed under pressure; your attention to detail ensures accuracy even amidst competing priorities; your sense of accountability means you always act ethically—particularly when balancing interests between different business units or adhering to regulatory standards.

  • Ideally possess over four years’ experience within Banking or Finance environments where you have developed a deep understanding of capital markets products and investor dynamics.
  • Candidates with a strong loan background, particularly in syndications, project finance or leveraged finance, will be required
  • Hold a degree from a leading university; additional qualifications such as CFA or Master’s Degree are highly regarded but not essential.
  • Demonstrate detailed knowledge of global capital markets products including loans and bonds as well as familiarity with institutional investor requirements.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills enabling you to convey complex information clearly while building rapport with clients, colleagues, and external partners alike.
  • Showcase strong analytical abilities through experience conducting financial analysis related to pricing trends, liquidity assessments or deal structuring.
  • Display outstanding interpersonal skills which allow you to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams both regionally and globally.
  • Possess advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel/PowerPoint/Word) along with Bloomberg or similar financial data platforms.
  • Bring a positive attitude marked by resilience—a ‘can do’ approach—combined with meticulous attention to detail even when managing large workloads under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrate sound judgement when navigating regulatory requirements or resolving potential conflicts of interest between different business entities within the group structure.
  • Maintain a calm demeanour under pressure while consistently delivering accurate results aligned with organisational values.
