Catastrophic Injury Team
 

The Role

We are looking to recruit an Associate (2–5 PQE) to join our Catastrophic Injury team at Clyde & Co, Manchester. This is a key role within a high-performing and nationally recognised practice, acting for leading insurer, clients on complex, high-value personal injury claims.

You will manage a caseload of multi-track claims, with a particular focus on catastrophic and large loss matters arising from Employers’ Liability (EL) and Public Liability (PL), including cases involving serious and life-changing injuries.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a caseload of complex EL/PL claims, including catastrophic and large loss matters
• Assisting partners and senior lawyers on high-value, technically challenging cases
• Conducting detailed liability investigations and quantum assessments
• Instructing and liaising with counsel, experts, and other stakeholders
• Drafting pleadings, witness statements, and other legal documentation
• Supporting clients with strategic case management and early resolution strategies
• Maintaining strong client relationships and delivering a high standard of service
• Contributing to team knowledge sharing and wider business development initiatives

Skills & Experience Required

• Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with 2–5 years’ PQE
• Proven experience handling Employers’ Liability and Public Liability claims
• Experience of multi-track litigation, ideally including catastrophic or large loss matters
• Strong technical ability and a proactive approach to case management
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Commercial awareness and a client-focused mindset
