Job Description:

  • The successful candidate will be joining the FX electronic trading technology team to analyze, design, build and support globally distributed, high availability, low-latency trading systems.
  • Be part of a highly talented and diverse team, spread across global locations, such as London, New York, Singapore and India.
  • Build performance-critical software supporting real-time electronic pricing and trading workflows.
  • Practice agile software development and delivery methodologies using industry standard tools and processes.
  • Develop excellent understanding of FX electronic trading, including pricing and risk management.
  • Develop strong execution and leadership qualities working in a fast paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality, performance-critical C++ software, including new features and enhancements to the FX electronic trading platform.
  • Own technical delivery from requirements analysis and solution design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Conduct rigorous peer code reviews and resolve defects and technical issues promptly.
  • Diagnose complex latency, concurrency, reliability, and production issues using logs, metrics, profiling, and system-level analysis.
  • Collaborate with Business, Quantitative Analysts, Business Analysts, QA, Production Support, and infrastructure teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and continuously improve platform performance, resilience, observability, and operational supportability.
  • Work independently, manage priorities effectively, and proactively drive tasks through to completion.
  • Mentor team members and promote strong engineering, testing, secure-development, and inclusive working practices.
  • Participate in L3 production support when required.
  • Provide technical leadership across complex deliveries and influence engineering standards across the wider electronic trading technology organization.

Required Skills:

We are looking for a skilled software developer to deliver critical low-latency front-office pricing / trading solutions to Global Markets businesses.


  • Minimum 6-8 years of server-side C++ development experience in Linux/UNIX environments, including development of multithreaded, distributed, and performance-sensitive systems.
  • Strong knowledge of modern C++, the Standard Template Library, data structures, algorithms, memory management, object-oriented design, software design principles, and commonly used design patterns.
  • Strong understanding of multithreaded programming, concurrency, synchronization, and thread-safety.
  • Experience designing and developing low-latency, high-throughput distributed systems leveraging asynchronous messaging, messaging middleware, publish-subscribe and event-driven architectures, inter-process communication, and network protocols.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical problems independently and deliver robust solutions through the full software-development lifecycle.
  • Strong software-engineering practices, including code review, automated testing, source control, and continuous integration.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with globally distributed technical and business stakeholders.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience developing front-office electronic-trading systems within FX, Rates, or other Global Markets businesses, including market-data, pricing, order-management, trade-booking, and risk-management platforms.
  • Understanding of electronic pricing, liquidity distribution, order and trade lifecycles, hedging, and real-time risk-management workflows.
  • Experience with FIX protocol and electronic trading connectivity, including exchange, trading-venue, and client integrations.
  • Experience with KDB+/q, time-series databases, relational databases, and SQL.
  • Experience with Bash, Python, Perl, or similar scripting languages for automation, diagnostics, and operational tooling.
  • Knowledge of Linux performance analysis and optimization, including CPU, memory, network, concurrency, and latency profiling.
  • Experience supporting business-critical production systems, including incident investigation, root-cause analysis, monitoring, and resilience improvements.
  • Familiarity with secure software-development, change-management, release-management, and production-control practices within a regulated financial-services environment.
  • Experience mentoring developers, contributing to architectural decisions, or leading complex technical deliveries.
