About this opportunity:

The Department of Information Systems and Operations Management in the Miller College of Business at Ball State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning August 2027.

Candidates with an interest and ability to teach undergraduate and/or graduate business analytics and information systems courses and conduct quality research in the same fields are encouraged to apply.

What you'll do and what you will bring:

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities: teaching nine semester hours each fall and spring semester in subjects such as but not limited to: business analytics, Information Systems, Networking, Database, cyber security, AI in business; assignment may include undergraduate and graduate courses, which may be delivered on-line, synchronously or asynchronously. Additional activities will include scholarly activity and service.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Earned doctorate in Business Analytics and Information Systems or closely related fields from an accredited institution.
• Candidates with ABD will be considered and must demonstrate satisfactory progress toward completion of the doctoral degree consistent with university policy.
• Evidence of, or demonstrated potential for high-quality scholarly research and effective university-level teaching.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Record of scholarly publications in peer-reviewed quality journals; experience in creative teaching methods such as experiential-learning, service-learning, immersive-learning, or other instructional innovations; and on-line teaching; evidence of active involvement in external grant writing; business experience in the field of Information Systems or related areas; ability to teach and conduct research in Business Analytics and Information Systems.
