Texas A&M University-Victoria seeks up to six full-time, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Curriculum and Instruction, with an anticipated start date of January 2027. The position is located at the Victoria Campus.

Qualifications: The Department of Teacher Education at Texas A&M University-Victoria invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Curriculum and Instruction. We welcome applicants with expertise in the following areas of specialization:

· K-12 Mathematics Education (2 positions)

· K-12 Science Education (1 position)

· Literacy Studies (2 positions)

· K-12 Physical Education (1 position)

We seek an individual with an earned doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in one of the identified areas of specialization completed by December 2026. An ABD candidate may be considered, provided there is a clearly established completion date. They should also have evidence of strong teaching at the higher education level, and a minimum of three years of PK-12 classroom teaching experience in the content area. The successful candidate should possess a strong understanding of effective pedagogy across grade levels and a working knowledge of expectations for educator preparation and teacher certification.

Successful candidates will:

· Teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in Curriculum and Instruction and in both traditional and online formats in content area (4-course or equivalent teaching load in the fall and spring semesters);

· Teach and support methods courses serving candidates seeking EC-6, 4-8, and secondary content area certification, as appropriate;

· Support undergraduate teacher preparation and graduate programs in Curriculum and Instruction;

· Work collaboratively with faculty to strengthen candidates' content knowledge, pedagogical content knowledge, and effective use of evidence-based instructional practices;

· Contribute to curriculum development, program assessment, and continuous improvement;

· Maintain an appropriate scholarly agenda consistent with expectations for a tenure-track faculty appointment; and

· Contribute to the department, college, and university's mission through assigned service.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated excellence in university teaching in traditional and online environments and experience preparing teachers to provide effective instruction in diverse PK–12 settings.

Additional preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate:

· Knowledge of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for content area, knowledge of Texas Education Agency (TEA), and Texas educator certification standards;

· Experience with content area curriculum development, assessment, and data-informed instruction;

· Experience working with preservice and/or practicing teachers;

· Experience supporting teacher candidates preparing for Texas content area certification examinations;

· An understanding of the structures and needs of PK-12 schools and school systems; and

· A commitment to developing collaborative relationships with schools, districts, Education Service Centers, and other educational partners.

Setting: Texas A&M University-Victoria is the most recent addition to the Texas A&M University System. The University was founded in 1973 as part of the University of Houston System and was transferred to the Texas A&M University System during the 89th Texas Legislative Session. A&M-Victoria is the only four-year university in a 100-mile radius and is just 30 miles from the Texas Gulf Coast.
