We are seeking a talented individual to join our Asia Placement Hub claims team, part of our risk business at Marsh. This role will be based in Singapore. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
The Asia Placement Hub (APH) Claims Team Leader is accountable for APH claims oversight across multiple lines of business, including Property, Casualty, Terrorism, Energy, Power, Construction, and Financial & Professional Lines (FINPRO). This role provides overall leadership for APH Claims Operations, including day-to-day management of the APH claims team and operational oversight of the offshore COE team supporting claims administration, collections, and payments activity. The role also serves as the primary escalation point for claims, collections, and payment matters, ensuring timely resolution and consistent outcomes for clients and internal stakeholders.
We will count on you to:
- Provide overall leadership for APH Claims Operations, including day-to-day management of the APH claims team and operational oversight of the offshore COE team supporting claims administration, collections, and payments activity.
- Act as the primary escalation point for APH claims, collections, and payment matters, ensuring timely resolution of issues impacting client service, financial outcomes, operational risk, and stakeholder confidence.
- Lead stakeholder management and governance across clients, placing brokers, retail office colleagues, (re)insurers, claims experts, and internal partners (including Finance/Credit Control), ensuring clear ownership, responsiveness, and consistent outcomes.
- Own and drive operational governance, including establishing, monitoring, and improving KPIs and service standards; ensuring accurate and timely management reporting; overseeing quality assurance (QA) frameworks, file audits, and corrective action plans; and driving adherence to required processes, documentation standards, and controls.
- Lead and deliver continuous improvement initiatives and operational projects to strengthen consistency, accuracy, and efficiency across APH Claims Operations, including standardization of workflows between onshore and offshore teams.
- Provide people leadership responsibilities including coaching, mentoring, and developing team members (onshore and offshore); setting expectations, allocating workloads, and ensuring productivity and service levels; and supporting performance management, capability building, and succession planning within the team.
- Ensure basic to moderate level of technical oversight and coverage determination, including identification of relevant policies/coverage for incoming claims.
- Oversee timely and accurate claim notification and lifecycle management with (re)insurers, including prompt claim registration on applicable system(s); issuance of required documentation (e.g., PLAs, RLAs, DLAs, debit/credit notes); appropriate tracking of claim movement, reserves (where applicable), and key milestones; and proactive and consistent communication to stakeholders as claims progress.
- Ensure disciplined execution of claims collections and payments processes, which may include collection of loss adjuster and expert fees through structured follow-up and escalation; coordination with Marsh Finance/Credit Control for reconciliations, settlement processing, and resolution of outstanding balances; and oversight of payment governance to clients and appointed claims experts, including controls and documentation sufficiency.
- Manage and resolve complex claims and operational issues (e.g., claim complications, process breakdowns, disputed collections), escalating strategically where required while maintaining accountability for end-to-end resolution.
- Ensure the delivery of prompt, clear, and accurate guidance to clients and internal stakeholders on claims-related matters, aligned to agreed service standards and governance requirements.
- Maintain governance over file management and documentation standards, ensuring physical and/or e-files are complete, auditable, and consistently maintained, including verification that all notifications, expert reports, correspondence, and updates are properly e-filed.
What you need to have:
- Proven experience providing operational leadership and oversight for claims operations across multiple lines of business (e.g., Property, Casualty, Energy, Construction, FINPRO).
- Demonstrated people leadership experience, including managing onshore/offshore teams, coaching and developing team members, and supporting performance management.
- Strong stakeholder management experience with the ability to manage escalations and drive governance across clients, brokers, (re)insurers, and internal partners.
- Solid understanding of claims administration processes, including claim notification, documentation, collections, and payments governance.
