About the Role
Due development of new mines, and internal promotions, we are seeking our next Alternate UG Manager. Reporting to the Underground Manager, the Alternate Underground Manager plays a key leadership role in the safe and efficient delivery of underground mining operations at Plutonic Underground. Working an 8:6 FIFO roster, you will assume statutory and operational responsibilities in the Underground Manager's absence, while partnering closely with Technical Services to provide direction, leadership, and oversight to achieve production, safety, and budget targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and uphold a high standard for safety leadership; both in overseeing technical work to develop the mine plan, and in the day-to-day execution of the mine plan
- Support and lead the underground mining team, assuming the responsibilities of the Underground Manager during rostered absences
- Collaborate with Technical Services to develop budgets, operating plans and strategies that achieve production and business objectives
- Monitor and analyse operational performance, implementing improvement initiatives to optimise safety, productivity and cost performance
- Provide technical and operational leadership to ensure the safe and efficient execution of the underground mine plan
- Develop, implement and continuously improve safe systems of work, ensuring compliance with legislative, statutory and company requirements
- Demonstrate visible safety leadership by fostering workforce engagement, proactively managing risk and promoting a strong safety culture
Requirements
About you
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- WA Underground First Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency or equivalent
- Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent
- Current "C" Class Western Australian Drivers Licence
- Dangerous Goods Security Card (DGSC)
- The ability to obtain a National Police Clearance
- Previous experience in remnant underground mining will be held in high regard
- Significant underground mining experience, including statutory and management positions, with proven leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills across all levels of the business
