The role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and technically skilled AI Tooling & Governance Lead to establish AI FinOps within Zühlke and make sure we use AI technologies strategically and get measurable value from them.
In this role, you will enable strategic decision-making relevant to the whole company through information gathering and decision management. You will act as the CTO office's primary counterpart to the company-wide AI initiative and help translate strategic AI ambitions into practical, secure, scalable, and cost-effective technology solutions.
You will bring transparency to how AI tools, models, and platforms are used across the company and what they cost, evaluate emerging AI technologies, and take business ownership of AI-related tools and platforms. Working closely with the AI initiative, Enterprise Architecture, Security, Infrastructure, Finance, and other stakeholders, you will play a key role in shaping how AI technologies are adopted, operated, and funded within the organisation.
As our technology landscape evolves, this role offers opportunities to take on broader responsibilities and ownership within the domain, depending on organisational needs and individual strengths.
How you’ll make impact
• Establish and run AI FinOps practices within Zühlke: track AI usage and spend, allocate costs, and make AI consumption visible to teams and leadership.
• Link AI spend to business value and guide strategic AI investment decisions.
• Gather and consolidate information on AI technologies, usage, and costs, and manage the resulting decisions so leadership can act with confidence.
• Take business ownership of AI-related tools, platforms, and services, including licensing, budgets, vendor relationships, and roadmaps.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies, vendors, pricing and licensing models, and market developments.
• Define guidelines that help teams choose the right AI tools and models for the job, balancing value, cost, and risk.
• Support the implementation, integration, and operation of AI-related solutions.
• Contribute to governance, security, architecture, and compliance discussions related to AI technologies.
• Advise the CTO office team and Group Functions on AI capabilities, costs, and technical considerations.
What’s important to us
• Strong passion for Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies.
• Hands-on experience with AI technologies such as LLMs, AI Agents, Copilot technologies, RAG, or similar solutions.
• Understanding of FinOps principles and AI cost drivers such as token-based pricing, licensing, and cloud consumption, or a strong drive to build this expertise quickly.
• Solid technical background in cloud platforms, enterprise applications, infrastructure, software engineering, or related fields.
• Experience owning tools or services from a business perspective, such as licensing, budgeting, and vendor management.
• Ability to evaluate new technologies and translate them into practical business solutions.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Curiosity, ownership, and a continuous learning mindset.
• You communicate confidently in English and work effectively in an international environment with colleagues, internal customers, and other technical teams.
If you feel you don't meet all the requirements, we are still happy to get to know you, learn more about your ambitions and ideas and look forward to receiving your application!
