• Perform the full range of military tactical aircraft maintenance with a primary expertise as an AH-64 mechanic, repair functions including assembly and modification on a variety of Army and other DoD cross-service aircraft, their major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, and related systems.

• Install, connect, and adjust complete systems such as fuel, heat, lubrication, hydraulic, engine, and transmission: install and align fuselage parts; balance, align, and install tail rotor assemblies; rig complete flight control systems.

• Incorporate authorized modifications and changes.

• Make operational checks of hydraulic and fuel systems using external power sources and powered ground equipment.

• Inspect and troubleshoot to determine cause of malfunctions; disassemble to point of trouble; adjust, repair, realign or replace defective component or assembly.

• Must be able to properly use a variety of common hand tools and measuring devices such as gauges torque wrenches and scales and test, measurement and diagnostic equipment related to specific aircraft models.

• Must be able to determine when faulty systems or assemblies can be corrected through repair of replacement of new parts and the nature and extent of repair required.

• Must have skill in reading, applying, and interpreting technical data.

• Direct the work of lower-graded mechanics for complete assembly, modification and checkout of the entire aircraft and coordinate with related trades such as general mechanics and sheet metal to assure proper sequence of the complete aircraft assembly process.

• Prepare forms and records related to aircraft maintenance.

• Perform additions duties as assigned and required.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Graduate or GED equivalent is required. 

• Five (5) or more years aviation maintenance experience on the AH-64 aircraft being serviced.

• Strongly prefer the AH-64 hands-on experience within the past recent Five (5) years.

• Interim NAC-I Public Trust Clearance required for deployment.

• A valid US Passport is Required for deployment to Poland.

Security Clearance Requirements:

• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance, NAC-I T1 (Public Trust). Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. US Citizenship is Required for facility credentials/authorization to work at this facility.

Knowledge & Skills

• Possess good communication skills; be adaptable, diversified and capable of troubleshooting entire aircraft system.

• Working knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical and associated systems principles to complete properly all probable work tasks.

• Knowledge of Quality Control, Production and Supply procedures required to perform job assignment.

• Able to determine when faulty systems or assemblies can be corrected through repair of replacement of new parts and the nature and extent of repair required.

• Must have skill in reading, applying and interpreting technical data.

Preferred Knowledge:

• Perform duties consisting of identifying, keep inventory records, and controlling issuing and the return of all special tools and consumables.

• Responsible for monitor calibrated instruments and quarantine as necessary for re-calibration, or broken tooling and filing necessary broken tool / lost tool reporting documentation IAW policy.

• Perform inventory audits and handle key control all keys that are for all GSE, including GSE vehicles like tugs, tractors, forklift, Kubotas, etc.  Key control also will be handled by GM for all POL lockers, shop sets, and Connex’s in Amentum control.

• Make operational checks on returned tooling and equipment to ensure serviceability.

• Inspect and troubleshoot to determine cause of malfunctions; disassemble to point of trouble; adjust, repair, realign or replace defective tooling if authorized to do so.

• Must be able to determine when faulty tooling or GSE equipment can be corrected through repair of replacement of new parts and the nature and extent of repair required.

• Prepare forms and records related to aircraft maintenance, GSE, and special tooling.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

• Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day.

• Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.

• Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.

• May be required to lift heavy objects whose weight may exceed 50 pounds.

• Must be able to type using a standard keyboard to communicate through e-mail and various software applications.

• Will handle dirty parts and lubricants.

• Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

• Must be able to pass a Respirator Physical and Fit Test qualification.

• May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, forklift, etc.

• Must be able to lift/push/pull minimum of 50 pounds.

• May work in maintenance shop or outside.

• Must be able to work in a shop where the environment is drafty, noisy, and dirty.

• May be exposed to extreme noise from operating equipment.

• May be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts or vehicles.

• May be expected to work in austere environments and all-weather condition.
