About the Opportunity:
Join a highly respected Cardiothoracic Surgery team at Intermountain Health McKay-Dee Hospital, where you'll have the opportunity to practice at the top of your license while working alongside dedicated surgeons who are deeply invested in mentoring and professional growth.
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with cardiothoracic surgery expertise to become part of a collaborative team committed to exceptional patient care, clinical excellence, and a healthy work-life balance
This primarily inpatient role offers a dynamic blend of operating room experience, ICU management, and perioperative patient care. APPs rotate through key responsibilities, creating a diverse and engaging practice environment.
Position Highlights
- Monday through Friday schedule
- Rotating responsibilities among surgical APPs, including:
- Operating Room
- Pre- and Post-Operative Care
- ICU Rounding and Management
- Predominantly inpatient practice with occasional clinic responsibilities
- Shared 1:4 call schedule
- One full week of call every four weeks
- Followed by a flexible post-call week focused on backup support, including clinic calls, ICU calls, and OR assistance
- Join a well-established team of:
- 3 Cardiothoracic Surgeons
- 5 Advanced Practice Providers
- Strong culture of collaboration, mentorship, and work-life balance
- Surgeons are highly engaged in teaching and supporting APP professional development
How we'll support you:
Our compensation package is as follows:
- Generous base salary of $147,000 to $187,900, based on experience
- Additional call compensation with a 1:4 call schedule, providing approximately $47,000 annually in call pay
- 1.5x your hourly rate for callback activations while on call
- Up to $7,500 annually through our quality incentive program
- Up to $4,000 annually for Continuing Medical Education (CME)
- Continuous Development Recognition Program, offering the opportunity to earn up to $10,000 annually for professional development achievements
- Uncapped Discretionary Time Off (DTO), providing the flexibility to prioritize both your personal and professional wellbeing

What you’ll bring (Qualifications):
Required
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Current or eligible Utah NP or PA licensure
- DEA registration
- ACLS certification
- Cardiothoracic Surgery APP experience required
- Minimum of one year of independent Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH) experience required
