Position Summary and Qualifications:

Teach one-credit Inequality in American Society (INT 151) class. Work collaboratively and professionally with other faculty who are teaching this class.

Saint Joseph’s University (SJU) offers a wide variety of bachelor's, master's, doctoral, associate and certificate programs. SJU appoints part-time, non-tenure track adjunct instructors on a semester-to-semester basis with no guarantee of consecutive appointments. Re-appointment is based on university need, student enrollment, and satisfactory performance. Applicants for these positions are screened on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year. Teaching responsibilities are assigned by the department chair. Compensation for adjunct instructors is commensurate with educational credentials, professional, experience and instructional background. Adjunct instructors are bound to the terms and conditions of employment at Saint Joseph’s University, including but not limited to the Faculty Handbook. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide support and guidance to students

• Instruct an assigned course, providing syllabi and other instructional materials

• Use of university learning management systems to deliver instruction

• Plan, develop, and teach well-organized classes and present other learning opportunities for students in accordance with student learning outcomes for the course.

• Prepare curriculum materials, including course outlines, syllabi, and other instructional materials in keeping with departmental and college principles.

• Uphold and comply with faculty responsibilities as described in the "Faculty Responsibilities" section of the Faculty Handbook.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

• Seek always to promote a spirit of collegiality in dealings with college staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required

• Master's degree

• Knowledge of content related to inequality in the U.S.

Preferred

• Some teaching experience

Work Hours:

• The sections of the class are taught between 8 a.m. and 6:30 pm.

Physical and Other Requirements:

• May require standing for long periods of time

• May require talking for long periods of time

• May require carrying course materials
