Sobre esta vaga de Accounting Manager na Breeze
At Breeze, we're building the AI-powered infrastructure layer for global commerce, making it radically simpler for businesses to sell, get paid, and operate across markets.
We go far beyond traditional payment processing. Breeze combines global payments, AI, stablecoins, and a Merchant of Record-like model to take on the complexity businesses typically manage themselves, including compliance, risk, fraud, chargebacks, reconciliation, and customer support.
Our goal is simple: let businesses focus on building and selling great products while Breeze handles the complexity behind getting paid.
Backed by Sequoia Capital, Multicoin Capital, and The Chainsmokers, Breeze is a successful, rapidly growing, and exceptionally well-capitalized company. We have the runway to think long term while remaining early enough that every person joining today can have a meaningful impact on what we build.
Overview
As our Accounting Manager, reporting to our Head of Finance, you'll own two things that matter a great deal right now: supporting external financial statement audits, and running the multi-entity close and consolidation as we add entities, currencies, and licenses.
This is a hands-on role on a small team. You'll be in the detail, preparing schedules, writing technical memos, and reconciling settlement activity, while also building the process and documentation that lets us scale past the current setup. If you like the part of the job where you turn a messy, fast-moving environment into something auditable, this is that job.
We're looking for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, wants meaningful ownership, and is excited to build rather than simply maintain.
What You'll Do
Audit management
- Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for our external auditors, managing the PBC list, fieldwork logistics, and issue resolution through to signed opinion.
- Build audit-ready support: reconciliations, roll-forwards, and workpapers with clear tie-out to the general ledger.
- Draft technical accounting memos on judgment areas, such as principal vs. agent revenue presentation under ASC 606, reserve and loss estimates, capitalized software, and equity and stock compensation.
- Identify control gaps surfaced during the audit and drive remediation.
Multi-entity accounting and consolidation
- Own the monthly close across our legal entities, including intercompany transactions, eliminations, and the consolidated reporting package.
- Manage foreign currency remeasurement and translation under ASC 830.
- Maintain the intercompany framework, including transfer pricing entries, cost allocations, and settlement between entities.
- Produce consolidated financial statements with variance analysis and commentary.
Payments-specific accounting
- Account for settlement activity: merchant payables, in-transit funds, sponsor bank and FBO account reconciliations, and restricted cash presentation.
- Manage interchange, network, and processing cost accounting.
- Own chargeback, refund, and merchant credit loss reserve methodology.
Process and systems
- Tighten the close calendar and reduce cycle time without sacrificing accuracy.
- Improve reconciliation automation between processor data, banking partners, and the GL.
- Contribute to an ongoing assessment of the accounting and tax tech stack.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting at a mid-tier or Big 4 firm.
- Direct accounting experience at a payments company, fintech, bank, lender, or other regulated financial services business. This is the core requirement, not a nice-to-have. You should already understand settlement flows, customer funds, and how money actually moves.
- Demonstrated ownership of multi-entity consolidation, including intercompany eliminations and multi-currency reporting.
- Experience running or playing a lead role in an external financial statement audit.
- Advanced Excel, with real comfort working with large transaction-level datasets from processors or core banking systems.
- Some experience applying AI to accounting workflows.
- Comfortable operating in fast-moving environments without an established playbook.
- A builder mentality with a strong bias toward action.
- Excited to use AI and automation to work smarter and rethink existing processes.
- Comfortable getting into the details and doing the work, regardless of seniority.
Nice to Have
- Experience at an early-stage or high-growth startup.
- CPA or equivalent.
- Familiarity with money transmitter licensing, FBO account structures, or crypto and stablecoin settlement accounting.
- Experience with multi-book, multi-currency ERPs, plus tools like Modern Treasury or Ramp.
- BigQuery or comparable ability to pull your own data.

- Work with an exceptional team: Join ambitious, curious, low-ego people who move quickly, hold a high bar, and care deeply about what they build.
- Grow with Breeze: As Breeze grows, strong performers can quickly expand their scope and take on bigger problems.
- Build for the long term: Backed by Sequoia Capital, Multicoin Capital, and The Chainsmokers, we're exceptionally well-capitalized with the runway to think big.
In-Office Expectations
Employees based in our New York City, NY office follow a hybrid work model and are expected to work from the office three days per week. Employees based in our Singapore office are expected to work on-site five days per week.
In-office expectations may vary slightly depending on role, team, and business needs. Certain roles that require closer cross-functional collaboration or operational support may have additional requirements, which will be discussed during the interview process.
Our approach is designed to support meaningful in-person collaboration, team building, and real-time decision-making while providing flexibility where applicable. We believe this structure enables strong execution, close collaboration, and effective teamwork across our global offices.
Come Build With Us!
We offer a rare combination: the ownership and speed of an early-stage company with the traction, backing, and financial foundations of a successful business.
We're building at the convergence of AI, payments, stablecoins, financial infrastructure, and global commerce. The opportunity is much bigger than building another payment processor.
We're building the intelligent infrastructure layer for global commerce, and there's still an enormous amount left to build.
If you want meaningful ownership, hard problems, exceptional teammates, and the opportunity to help define what comes next, we'd love to hear from you!
