Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Identifies and anticipates safety and health concerns and hazards by surveying environmental, operational, and occupational conditions; rendering opinions and identifying options for new equipment and procedures; investigating and mitigating violations; and implementing preventive programs.
• Guides and promotes safe work performance by implementing and improving safety systems, policies, and procedures; develops safety campaigns, communications, and recognitions; designs employee training programs.   
• Helps ensure compliance with DOT, federal, state, and local safety regulations by understanding company policies and advising employees on how to adhere to them; recommends improvements to company policies when appropriate; reviews new and proposed agency health and safety requirements and supports efforts to ensure company compliance.
• Conducts inspections and reports safety observations to leadership; provides alternatives for improvement; tracks safety metrics and recommends new metrics when needed.
• Performs contractor safety assessments and provides recommendations to leadership regarding contractor performance improvement.
• Prepares safety training materials; conducts monthly safety training and leads field safety meetings.
• Helps maintain corporate safety databases, including SDS Software/Incident Management systems, by performing basic data entry and documentation.
• Leads emergency response team as needed; prepares training material and provides training for safety and environmental incident management.
• Leads complex investigations to identify root cause and develops corrective actions.
• Demonstrates and upholds the company’s core values – integrity, ownership, urgency, alignment, and innovation.
• Supports the company’s mission and vision, adheres to established work schedules, and maintains attendance standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Other Job Responsibilities:

• Ability to be available 24 hours per day (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.)
• Maintains employee confidence and protects company assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential
• Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional associations.
• Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

• Seven (7) years minimum operations, regulatory, and/or health and safety oil and gas experience.
• Ability to solve problems accurately and exceptional proficiency in data management.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
• Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate complex information into an organized and presentable manner.
• Outstanding administrative and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)

Education Requirements:

• Associate/Technical Degree from an accredited two-year college, community college, or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating sufficient knowledge, ability, and skill to handle the duties and responsibilities of the position.
