Sigma Defense is seeking an Application Developer to provide support to Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWC DD) Engineering Life-Cycle Management & Development Resources (ELCMDR) Program for web-based applications and systems engineering tools, and other like support services.
This position will support the All Sites Module (ASM) and related applications, with an emphasis on Java-based application modernization, Oracle database support, TypeScript/Vue development, security compliance, and Agile software development.
This is a contingent position that is pending award of contract. This means that the position is subject to the successful awarding of a contract and will be confirmed once the contract is finalized. The candidate selected for this role will be offered the position on the condition that the contract is awarded to our organization.

Requirements
- 2-3 years of relevant experience.
- 2+ years of experience using Java.
- 2+ years of experience using NET/MVC, Angular, JavaScript, jQuery, and HTML5 is preferred.
- 2+ years of experience working with Git repositories.
- 2+ years of experience using one or more of the following development environments: Visual Studio, JDeveloper, NetBeans, or Eclipse.
- 2+ years of experience with Agile software development and peer programming.
- Experience working with Oracle databases.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
Candidate Differentiators:
- Experience modernizing legacy Java applications.
- Experience developing applications using TypeScript and Vue.js.
- Experience with Vuetify or similar UI frameworks.
- Experience with Oracle database procedures, functions, and triggers.
- Experience developing and maintaining technical documentation, SOPs, installation instructions, and cutover plans.
- Experience supporting applications within Department of Defense (DoD) environments.
- Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity requirements and security compliance processes.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment

Personnel Clearance Level:
- Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance or higher.

Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an Engineering, Scientific, Business, or technical discipline with 2+ years of technical experience developing complex applications.
- 6+ years of technical experience developing complex applications may be substituted for the education requirement.
Essential Job Duties (not all-inclusive):
- Application development, database support, modernization, testing, and sustainment for mission-critical applications supporting the Government.
- Develop, maintain, enhance, and modernize complex applications supporting Government mission requirements.
- Convert existing Java classes into TypeScript.
- Develop Vue.js components to replace legacy Java Frames.
- Support development and integration using modern application development frameworks and tools.
- Develop and execute software test procedures to validate application functionality and performance.
- Troubleshoot application issues and provide timely technical solutions.
- Participate in peer programming and collaborative software development activities.
- Maintain application documentation, installation instructions, migration instructions, and delivery cutover plans.
- Develop and maintain Oracle procedures, functions, and triggers.
- Develop and maintain database procedures, technical documentation, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Support application and database security requirements within classified and Government environments.
- Support certificate installation and certificate trust-store updates.
- Identify and resolve application connectivity and user-access issues.
- Perform Software Development and Web Application STIG activities.
- Participate in daily Agile stand-up meetings.
- Participate in bi-weekly sprint planning, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives.
- Collaborate with Government stakeholders, technical teams, and program leadership.
- Provide status briefings, technical reports, demonstrations, and application updates as required.
- Participate in technical discussions and demonstrations with Government sponsors.
Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 annually.
