About the position

KoBold Metals Zambia is looking for highly motivated and experienced Senior Exploration Geologists who will be part of our multidisciplinary exploration team. In this role, you will be part of the team responsible for planning and conducting exploration programs on our properties. You will lead projects and develop targets and plans to test them. You  will oversee drilling, data collection on drill core, and other field activities from soil sampling to geophysical surveys. You will help design and implement our proprietary software tools to get insights from geoscience data and to guide exploration programs in real time. You will be a key part of the team that puts these insights into practice in making exploration decisions in the field. You will work closely with both geologists and data scientists in Zambia and around the world.

Responsibilities

The Senior Exploration Geologist will:

• Have a strong working knowledge of sediment-hosted copper deposits 
• Oversee and conduct geological drill core logging
• Be responsible for drill core sampling and geotechnical logging
• Handle day-to-day management of drilling campaigns
• Perform a range of geological analyses to generate and refine targets and geologic models resulting from the data collection programs

Work collaboratively with data scientists and provide mentorship to geology team members 

Qualifications

A great Exploration Geologist candidate will have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Geology
• At least 10 years of experience in sediment-hosted copper mineral systems
• Significant advanced project experience with exposure to resource development and technical studies requirements
• Familiarity with JORC or Ni:43101 reporting standards
• Excellent communication and reporting skills
• Ability to use geoscience data to think predictively and insightfully about exploration targeting
• Experience with drill core handling procedures such as core logging and sampling
• Experience supervising multiple drill rigs
• Strong intellectual curiosity
• Good computer skills including working knowledge of QGIS and Leapfrog Geo

About The Role:

At KoBold, software engineers have the unique opportunity to embed directly with their users and learn the ins and outs of mineral exploration and geology while developing state of the art technology solutions. Unlike traditional software engineering roles, we don’t simply ship code and passively wait for feedback about its utility: our userbase includes our colleagues… and ourselves! While there are real technical challenges in making mineral exploration data broadly searchable and accessible to both humans and machines, we believe that solving these technical challenges cannot be done without “getting our hands dirty” – sometimes literally! – by embedding directly with the exploration teams and even occasionally (~once a year) joining our colleagues in the field, be it in Zambia, Canada, or Arizona, to experience the impact of our software in real time.

About the Role

The Financial Advisory Services Specialist in Zambia supports the financial health and sustainability of One Acre Fund’s Carbon and Core programs. You'll collaborate closely with local and Global Finance teams to lead budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting that directly influence program performance and organizational strategy. You'll work within a two-person Zambia FAS team, consisting of a FAS Associate and this Specialist role.

Responsibilities

Budgeting, Monthly Budget v Actual (BVA) + Grant ReportingYou will work with department heads to set annual budgets and manage monthly BVA process

• You will present new strategies and assessments to stakeholders in compelling arguments
• You will provide important assessments of all budgets and cost projections and conduct cost-benefit analyses for individual departments and the organization as a whole through examining current spending, financial forecasts, and overall goals to make recommendations and guide decisions.

About the Role

The Case Investigation & Audit Supervisor is a critical role within the Business Operations department. You will be responsible for safeguarding the organization’s integrity and ensuring the highest standards of Customer Protection (CP). You will lead investigations into fraud and harassment, and manage routine and ad-hoc audits. As an "Owner," you will not only identify risks but also recommend strategic courses of actions to improve farmer satisfaction and operational quality.

Responsibilities

• Audit Ownership: Develop data-driven criteria to detect fraud early (including Repayment Fraud, Ghost Farmers, and Input Swaps. Additionally, you will plan and execute the seasonal audit calendar.
• Investigation Management: Lead case investigations into Client Protection violations (Tier I, II, and III). Report findings and recommend disciplinary or corrective actions to leadership.
• Capacity Building & Training: Train field staff and clients on CP best practices, repayment processes, and document filing to ensure staff remain protected and farmers are respected.

Global Solutions Ventures (GSV) – a joint-venture partnership between ZemiTek, LLC and Dexis Consulting Group – is implementing the Long-term Exceptional Technical Assistance Project (LEAP Global), a mechanism originally used by USAID to battle against infectious diseases such as malaria, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, neglected tropical diseases, and pandemic influenza. As of July 1, 2025, LEAP Global transitioned to the U.S. Department of State (DOS). This initiative aims to address the complex human resource challenges faced by national infectious disease programs in the USA-supported countries.

The intervention of this project is to hire and embed technical expert advisors and subject matter experts within government entities. By directly embedding the technical expertise within the national programs, LEAP provides long-term, sustainable lifesaving support to empower host governments to lead and manage key aspects of their infectious disease portfolios and improve coordination between the U.S. Government and the host country.

About the Position

The Finance Advisor will provide targeted HIV-specific technical support to strengthen program implementation, financial compliance, and reporting accuracy across all HIV-related activities, in alignment with the Presidential Executive Order (EO) directives on life-saving humanitarian assistance (LHA). This support will include guiding the National HIV/AIDS/STI/TB Council (NAC) on budget alignment with HIV program priorities and enhancing the capacity of implementing teams to plan, track, and report HIV expenditures effectively. The aim is to improve the quality, efficiency, and accountability of HIV program financing while supporting timely and accurate financial documentation. The Finance Advisor will report to the Team Leader and the NAC-appointed finance/resource tracking focal person. Outputs will be reviewed by NAC and relevant counterparts as designated. The Finance Advisor will report to the U.S. Department of State on monthly basis, as detailed in the “Reporting” section. The Advisor will support the NAC in carrying out life-saving humanitarian assistance (LHA) service delivery in full alignment with the new Presidential Executive Order (EO) directives. 

Responsibilities

To provide costing, resource mapping, and financing analysis inputs that strengthen the feasibility and sustainability of the NAC three-year strategic projection. The role will strengthen the National AIDS Strategic Framework (NASF)-aligned results framework and ensure the three-year strategic projection is supported by a clear, measurable, and feasible indicator and target package aligned with national data systems and Global Fund performance requirements.

Specific responsibilities and tasks in relation to the Grant Cycle 8 Global Fund application:

• Review existing costing, expenditure, resource tracking and financing analyses relevant to the NASF 2023-2027 and the planned priorities.
• Develop a high-level costing estimate for the three-year strategic projection, including key assumptions, unit costs where available, and linkages to prioritized interventions.
• Conduct resource mapping and financing gap analysis for the next three years (domestic resources, partner resources and anticipated Global Fund contributions), as feasible within available data.
• Support articulation of the financing and sustainability narrative for domestic resource mobilization in line with sustainability road map including considerations and financial risk mitigation.
• Propose a practical costing and resource summary table (and supporting notes) that can be adapted into the grant budget narrative and implementation arrangements.
• Support consultations and validation meetings, including documenting finance-related feedback and incorporating it into final deliverables.

Role-specific deliverables in relation to the Grant Cycle 8 Global Fund application:

• Costing and resource mapping summary for the three-year projection (with assumptions and limitations clearly stated).
• Financing gap analysis and suggested options to address key gaps (brief narrative note).
• Costing/resource tables suitable for inclusion in the strategic projection.
• Necessary inputs for a complete GC8 Application (to be determined)

REPORTING

The Senior Advisor/Team Lead will submit monthly reports to the U.S. Department of State submitted by the 5th day of the following month. Reporting to and receiving technical guidance from the NAC Director General (DG) or his designate, the Advisor will work closely with the U.S. Department of State (DoS)/Zambia and LEAP Global teams. Based at the NAC Secretariat in Lusaka, the Advisor will coordinate site visits and any extended off-site work with the NAC DG or designate and DoS/Zambia. Quarterly meetings will be held with DoS/Zambia to review progress and priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in financial management or accounting, management or business administration is required.
• Postgraduate qualification in health economics, public finance, accounting/finance, public health, development economics, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in health programme costing, budgeting, financing analysis, and/or resource mapping, preferably in HIV/TB programmes.
• Demonstrated experience with donor-funded programme budgeting.
• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to work with incomplete data and transparently document assumptions.
• Excellent writing skills and ability to communicate technical costing information to non-technical audiences.
• Experience with national health financing reforms, domestic resource mobilization, and sustainability planning.
• Familiarity with Zambia’s public financial management context and health financing landscape (advantage).
• Advanced Excel-based costing and modelling skills.
• Proven team leadership and mentorship skills.
• Demonstrated experience aligning work to results and performance frameworks.
• Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills, including working with government, local organizations, and community representatives.
• Excellent analytical, writing, and synthesis skills, with demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality outputs under tight timelines.

• At least five years of experience with, or strong knowledge of, Global Fund operating procedures and financial management processes.
• Understanding of USG rules and regulations preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with a broad range of Ministry of Health, NAC, and USG personnel and partners.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve consensus on policy, programme, and administrative matters.
• Strong communication skills for both health and non-health audiences.
• Proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English, both orally and in writing.

• Work authorization in Zambia is required.

Job Description 

Drill Contract Management

•  Collaborate with Exploration, Development and Contracts teams to uphold the drill tender process for planned programs. 
• Manage contract renewal or termination processes including negotiation drill contract terms and conditions
• The scope of work shall include technical and equipment specification requirements, (identifying appropriate contractors).
• Ensure contractor compliance with KoBold Metals’ Group Safety Policies and other related policies
•  Partner with Kobold Metals Zambia representatives and contract administrators to review the Contractor Safety Assessment Checklist prior to awarding Drilling Services contracts.
• Establish protocol, instilling the importance of regular liaison between drilling supervision, management, contracts, and contractor representatives for the timely completion of contracts before commencing any drilling activity.
•  Drive the process for conducting preliminary start-up safety inspections (post contract award) of all drilling and support equipment, providing accurate and regular reports to ensure rigs and equipment arrive as scheduled and are Standard-compliant.
•  Lead and advise the Commercial teams in engaging industry for exploration drilling services ensuring screening for industry recognized and accredited drilling companies with the highest safety standards. 
• Validate and approve drilling invoices before submission to finance

Production & Project Management Monitoring

• Daily presence and oversight on all active drill sites
• Develop and support daily logistics plan for core and sample movement
• Hold Monthly Management meetings with contractors. 
• Utilize the KoBold Drilling Technology system dashboard and ensure Contractor compliance to reporting accurate drilling data. 
• Provide expert drilling advice to Drill Contractors in a collaborative manner
• Conduct regular technical discussions with regional drill managers and project managers to effectively identify and quickly resolve problems.
•  Generate Daily, Weekly and Monthly reports for management team and provide management updates on the performance of the drill program

• Reports shall include individual rig information (Rig Performance Availability & Reliability statistics); 

• Identify and report on potential technical modifications at drilling operations that would improve production and/or reduce cost. 

Technical Skills & Competence 

• Good Understanding of drilling systems on drill equipment and technical specifications and applicability in exploration 
• Demonstrated track record of pre-empting and solving drilling problems
• Costing and scheduling drilling operations.
• Ability conduct technical post-drilling programs for technical studies - eg. geotechnical and hydrological testing post hole completion

 Qualifications:

• An accredited engineering degree, diploma or certificate is necessary - Mechanical/Mining related degree or courses.
• More than 8+ years fieldwork experience in mining & exploration drilling projects in particular
• Added advantage of master level in civil engineering, mechanical engineering or mineral/mining engineering, geology and earth sciences is also beneficial 
• Experience as Drilling Supervisor or Drilling Section Leader 
• Rigging certification - added advantage
• Valid Driver’s license
• Registration with Engineering Institute of Zambia (Engineer, Technician, Craftsperson) or relevant international body
