As a Forward Deployed Engineer, your responsibilities will look similar to those of a startup CTO: you'll work in small teams and own end-to-end execution of high stakes projects. You'll be the technical bridge between Applied Intuition's novel vehicle intelligence platforms and our customers' real-world operational environments.
This role demands both technical depth and operational excellence. You'll primarily work with defense and government customers, integrating our tools, Vehicle OS, and autonomy stacks with DOD platforms in challenging operational environments. The unique advantage: you'll leverage our robust commercial technology and rapidly evolving product suite to deliver capabilities that would take traditional defense contractors years to develop. You'll tackle problems spanning core software engineering, system deployment, hardware integration, and everything in between to ensure mission success.

- Work directly with defense and government customers to deploy, integrate, and operationalize Applied Intuition's vehicle intelligence products in military and government environments, from defense contractors to forward operating bases
- Tackle a broad range of technical challenges, including software engineering, operating system configuration, system deployment, and hardware integration
- Bridge customer-built systems and Applied’s solutions to deliver tangible value
- Design and implement scalable, consistent approaches for customer engagement and project execution
- Develop architectural solutions that improve consistency and scalability across projects

We're looking for someone who has:
- Strong engineering background, preferred in fields such as Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering
- Strong coder with demonstrated proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python
- Broad technical experience across software engineering, operating systems, and some hardware
- Experience supporting integration and deployment of complex systems
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proven ability to thrive and innovate independently within highly ambiguous and rapidly evolving operational environments
- Excellent communication skills and focus on solving customer problems
Nice to have:

The Team:
Celonis Support Services team operates a 3-Level Support model, which includes a dedicated highly-trained team of Celonis experts located in our Celonis Support Center. Our support engineers are familiar with the everyday challenges organizations face when deploying Celonis software and can quickly diagnose and support the questions regarding product-related issues our customers face, and provide technical support for Celonis On-Premise and Cloud-based Execution Management System products. The Role:
As part of the 2nd Level Support Team you will take over the technical support (remote) of our global customers and partners for all questions related to our software. You will form the interface between our customers, partners and our customer success & delivery, development and product management organization. The work you’ll do:
- Provide 2nd Level Support for Customer using Celonis On-Premise and Intelligent Business Cloud products
- Named technical contact for Premium Support Customers
- Accept, qualify, drive, and resolve complex Tickets, which have been forwarded or escalated to 2nd Level, according to our ITSM processes
- Qualify problems or defects for handover and collaboration with 3rd Level
- KPI adherence based on external Service Level Agreements and Organizational Level Agreements
- Participate and drive regular Root Cause Analysis (RCA) cycles to improve our Support Knowledge base
- Prepare and deliver Webcasts to customers and support staff on selected technical topics
- Collaborate with customers based on given and preferred communication channels
- Contribute to Continual Service Improvement (CSI) cycles and initiatives of Celonis and Celonis Support Organization.
- Coverage of on-call rotations as part of the global team.
The qualifications you need:
- You hold a Bachelor of Computer Science or related degree
- Role requires and active Government Clearance (Public Trust, Secret or Top Secret) with 18 months - 2 years of remaining eligibility
- Have a minimum 6 years of proven 2nd Support Level experience in handling international customer inquiries in consideration of Service Level Agreements.
- Demonstrated use of AI in support administration, troubleshooting, documentation etc.
- Proficient in at least one programming language e.g. Java, or in a scripting language e.g. Python
- Have experience with database systems (SAP HANA, Oracle, MS SQL Server)
- Goal-oriented, independent, and structured approach to the analysis and solution of complex problems in virtual and cloud-based environments
- Have senior customer communication and handling skills
- Strong customer service focus
- Passionate about topics like Execution Management, Process Mining, Big Data, Data Lake

The base salary range below is for the role in the specified location, based on a Full Time Schedule.
Total compensation package will include base salary + bonus/commission + equity + benefits (health, dental, life, 401k, and paid time off). The Office of Performance Analysis and Integrity manages and enhances the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) which resides on one Oracle M8 Supercluster database and thirteen application servers. Our team provides the technical services required to sustain EDW applications to include Project Management, Data Warehouse Management, Advanced Analytics, Tableau Server Administration/Tableau Desktop Administration, Technical Collaboration Support, Lessons Learned, Executive Orders and Special Projects, Architectural Enhancement, and Cloud Migration. Responsibilities:
- Data warehousing, data modeling, data integration, data Migration, ETL process and Business Intelligence
- Data Modeling design, analysis and implementation - conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling, data conversion, data integration and data mining specialization in the area of Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence
- Installing, configuring, developing, supporting and maintaining of the BI APPS
- Developing ETL’s using Informatica to facilitate Extraction Transformation and data load from OLTP systems to OLAP systems
- Designing schema using KPIs, Fact, Dimensions, Physical, Logical, Alias and Extension tables
- Building business model and established relationships and foreign keys (physical & logical) between tables
- Creating LDAP authentication to enable single-sign on for users in development environment leveraging analytics repository
- Using Informatica Mapping Designer to create/update mapping using different transformations required to move data into data warehouse
- Providing recommendations and identifying critical issues and processing faults as it pertains to data modeling, ETLs and Informatica
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:
- Master's degree in computer science or other technical disciplines (an additional 10 years of experience can substitute for a degree).
- 15+ experience in ETL tools, especially Informatica and data warehousing applications
- 10+ years’ experience developing and tuning complex SQL queries in Oracle relational database
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required security clearance
