Description
The avionics system is the backbone of highly reusable, operable, and reliable space systems. As an Avionics Mechanical Engineer at an early-stage start-up you will be responsible for developing mechanical solutions for component packaging and launch vehicle integration of flight avionics hardware. You will work closely with the avionics development, structures, and production teams to design and implement those solutions, and continuously iterate to improve your designs. You will seek out state-of-the-art solutions to difficult problems and you will assist in the definition of company standards for avionics development. You must be ready to stay focused, move fast, self-direct, and learn on the fly.
Responsibilities
- Design, manufacture, and test packaging for flight avionics, electronics, and electro-mechanical actuators
- Design, manufacture, analyze, and integrate launch vehicle harness routing and secondary structure, ensure these systems are structurally capable of surviving vehicle load cases. Create CAD models and drawings
- Perform thermal, structural, and tolerance analysis for electro-mechanical assemblies using both hand calculations and FEA
- Failure analysis of components as it relates to thermal, loads, vibration and shock
- Interface with machine shops and production teams to integrate design for manufacturing best practices and produce hardware needed for qualification and flight
- Own the hardware delivery timeline and success through inception, design, assembly, test, and integration
- Lead design reviews both internally and externally
- Drive continuous improvement efforts to increase throughput and reduce cost to meet the launch target
Qualifications
- B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
- 3+ years of experience with mechanical or electromechanical design and analysis (internships and significant student project experience qualify)
Preferred Qualifications
- Self-motivated with strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills
- Experience with CAD and FEA software packages including NX and Ansys
- Experience designing electronics component packaging for extreme environments
- Experience with harness routing
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, 3D printing, and sheet metal fabrication
- Exposure to high volume production designs with a focus on design for manufacturability
- Exposure to designing for high vibration environments
- Ability to perform thermal analysis for avionics components
- Experience with fatigue and thermal testing of electro-mechanical assemblies
- Solid understanding and application of GD&T

Reusable launch systems are the key to seamlessly connecting Earth and space. The Avionics system is the backbone of highly reusable, operable, and reliable space systems. We are seeking an Avionics Mechanical Manager to lead the design and development of mechanical solutions for component packaging and launch vehicle integration of flight avionics hardware for Nova’s first and second stages. This is a highly impactful role where you will guide a team of engineers through complex technical challenges, from early conceptual design, through manufacturing, integration, testing, and ultimately through flight operations. You will seek out state-of-the-art solutions to difficult problems and you will assist in the definition of company standards for avionics development. The qualified candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working hands-on, and consistently applies first-principles and system-level thinking to solve complex challenges.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical roadmap for stage avionics mechanical design on current and future vehicles
- Lead the execution of avionics mechanical designs from concept through release, build, testing, and vehicle-level operations
- Hire, grow, and mentor a team of avionics mechanical engineers
- Provide technical coaching in areas such as structures, avionics, thermodynamics, and rocket operations
- Maintain a culture of integrity, reliability, and fast iteration
- Design, analyze, manufacture, and test flight avionics including enclosures and secondary structure
- Lead design reviews both internally and externally
- Drive continuous improvement efforts to increase throughput and reduce cost to meet the launch target
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in design, build, analysis and/or testing of avionics mechanical systems or similar
- 1+ years of experience leading a team of engineers
- Project management experience including developing budgets and schedules, and managing resources
- Proficiency with relevant CAD and analysis tools (NX, ANSYS, Excel, Matlab, or equivalent)
- Experience working with PCB designers and exposure to PCB layout
- Hands on experience performing fabrication and assembly of components
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proven ability to mentor and coach
- Mastery of fundamentals
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or similar

We are looking for a Staff Quantum Control Hardware Engineer to join our Networking, Sensing, and Security division. In this role, you will design the critical physical layer interface for next-generation quantum networking nodes and high-precision sensing devices. You will build the low-noise, high-precision mixed-signal hardware necessary to control optical sources and read single-photon detectors with the fidelity required for secure quantum communication and entanglement distribution. Responsibilities:
- Design and develop low-noise, high-precision mixed-signal circuit boards (DACs/ADCs) to drive optical modulators and laser sources for quantum networking protocols.
- Engineer ultra-low-noise readout interfaces for single-photon detectors used in Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and sensing applications.

Position Summary:
The Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer monitors, documents, communicates, and improves the quality of incoming parts used in Cadwell’s industry-leading neurodiagnostic equipment, as well as the business and supplier processes used to produce those parts. This role includes quality oversight of circuit board assemblies, cables, metals, plastics, and more. The Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer leads the technical aspects of initial supplier qualification and ongoing re-qualification efforts and oversees both internal and external CAPAs related to supplier and contract manufacturer controls. This role collaborates closely with Operations, Quality, and R&D Engineering teams.
Key Duties / Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Operations and Design Engineering to develop and implement product acceptance sampling strategies, coordinate the Approved Supplier List (ASL), and establish supplier-owned control plans for new products
- Develop part qualification plans for new and revised components; determine incoming inspection requirements and create inspection plans (e.g., frequency, dimensional, visual, and functional criteria), including implementation and monitoring within the ERP system
- Lead response efforts for sourced-part quality issues identified during inspection, assembly, or in the field; manage supplier communication, containment, and replacement activities in collaboration with Procurement, Incoming Inspection, and suppliers
- Conduct failure analysis to determine root cause and define corrective and preventive actions (CAPA); validate and verify supplier actions for effectiveness
- Partner with Design Engineering on first article inspections, fit/form/function testing, drawing updates, and the design and implementation of measurement tools and fixtures; recommend design and specification improvements to enhance yield and reduce cost
- Support manufacturability and yield optimization by contributing to design and operations engineering activities from concept through release, including design reviews and prototype evaluation
- Participate in supplier and contract manufacturer selection, qualification, and re-qualification through planning and conducting on-site and remote quality system audits
- Assess supplier manufacturing environments and processes to evaluate capability and suitability; drive process improvements to ensure incoming part quality standards are met
- Identify and support supply chain cost-saving opportunities through part, material, and supplier qualification initiatives
- Proactively identify and mitigate supplier quality risks using experience, inspection data, and supplier control plans
Job Knowledge / Requirements:
- Comprehensive knowledge of printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing processes, including both bare board fabrication and populated assemblies
- Demonstrated experience coordinating supplier quality activities, including issue identification, communication, containment, and corrective action implementation
- Strong understanding of statistical analysis tools and methodologies (e.g., Cpk, Gage R&R, statistical process control)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to build the frontend and backend of the Agentic Computational Engineering platform. In this role, you will create high-performance full stack web applications that allow engineers to steer AI agents, visualize complex physics and CAD data, and collaborate with AI agents in real time.
You will work across the stack, with an emphasis on performance, 3D visualization, and intuitive UX for technical users. This role is ideal for someone who loves building tools for other engineers and who wants to make the reasoning and actions of AI systems transparent.
You will be joining the Agentic Computational Engineering (ACE) team, a specialized group within our Advanced Technology Development organization. ACE is responsible for building Voyager’s Generative Engine – the AI-native platform that compresses complex hardware development cycles from years to days. We design agentic AI systems that pair deeply with physics simulation, test data, and modern manufacturing so that Design for Manufacturing (DfM), Design for Assembly (DfA), and Design for Test (DfT) are built into the very first line of code and the very first sketch of a design.
Responsibilities:
- Design and build web applications that serve as mission control for ACE, with a focus on responsiveness and usability for expert users.
- Implement high-fidelity 2D/3D visualizations (e.g., CAD models, PCB layouts, CFD fields) using technologies such as Three.js, WebGL, or WebGPU.
- Create features that expose agent reasoning, tool usage, and design history in transparent and intuitive ways for engineers.
- Develop real-time, collaborative editing and review workflows (e.g., via WebSockets, CRDTs) for human-AI co-design.
- Collaborate with backend, platform, and domain team members to design APIs and data contracts that power the UI.
- Manage agentic teams of LLMs to scaffold components, generate documentation, and accelerate development.
Required Qualifications:
- An ability to define design decisions and build rapidly in a scalable way.

We are seeking a Senior Technical Director, Advanced Mission Critical Electronics to define and lead the development of our next-generation computing, sensing, and communications architectures.
This role requires a leader who challenges the status quo of "traditional space." We are looking for an expert who champions the adoption of modern, commercially derived electronics (COTS) for spaceborne applications over legacy "rad-hard by design" practices. You will drive the development of systems that span defense and commercial applications across all domains—from surface to airborne—with a specific, intense focus on spaceborne applications at all orbits (LEO, MEO, GEO, and cislunar).
You will be joining the Advanced Technology Development team, a specialized unit within our Strategic Growth and Technology Organization. This team is responsible for defining and developing Voyager's future technologies, with a relentless focus on high-impact, high-ROI technology and product research and development. Our technology portfolio spans the totality of Voyager's capabilities and beyond—we are tasked with creating both leap-ahead capabilities in existing technology areas and strategically moving into and developing foundational technology in new, uncharted areas.

- Define Electronics Strategy: Create the technical roadmap for Voyager’s mission-critical electronics portfolio, covering high-performance edge computing, software-defined radios, and advanced sensor suites.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Agentic Computational Engineering Applications Lead (Mechanical/Propulsion/PCB) to serve as the senior domain leader for AI-driven mechanical, propulsion, and/or PCB design within the ACE team. In this role, you will lead applications that generate and evaluate designs for systems such as Hall effect thrusters, solid rocket motors, nozzles, structural hardware, and radiation-hardened electronics.
You will bridge computational physics, CAD automation, and manufacturing constraints to ensure that AI-generated designs are physically valid and buildable. You will own a critical slice of the ACE application roadmap and help mentor a small group of exceptional engineers. This role is for someone who loves both hard physics, hard software, and hardware, and who is motivated by compressing the path from “idea” to “hot fire” by orders of magnitude.

- Embed manufacturability constraints (e.g., tool access, stock sizes, 5-axis machinability, additive manufacturing limits, via drilling constraints, etc.) into design checks and AI behavior.
- Develop and apply topology optimization and shape optimization workflows (or invent new generative methods) that output usable, production-ready geometry.
- Collaborate with propulsion, mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing engineers to validate AI-generated designs against test data and operational constraints.

- Master’s degree + 5 years, or PhD + 3 years, in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, Computational Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience designing and analyzing real hardware that flies or operates in demanding environments (propulsion, structures, mechanisms).
- Strong programming skills in Python or C++, with experience automating CAD and CAE tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, Ansys, COMSOL, Star-CCM+) or experience with ECAD tools (Altium, etc.).
- Hands-on familiarity with CFD, FEA, SPICE, or related numerical simulation methods.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional engineering projects and mentor junior engineers.
- Evidence of a “builder” mindset: side projects, labs, or prior roles where you pushed tools, simulations, or hardware well beyond what was handed to you.
Preferred Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge and experience across both PCB and mechanical design would make for the strongest candidates.
- Experience with topology optimization, shape optimization, or differentiable design workflows and ideas on new generative approaches that will push the boundaries of what is possible.
- Experience with auto-routing, automated schematic generation, or other automation approaches for electronics design.
- Practical experience with machining, 3D printing, or other fabrication techniques.
- Background in plasma physics, fluid dynamics, or thermodynamics as applied to propulsion.
- Experience working with AI or automation to accelerate CAD/CAE/EDA workflows.
- A personal history of building things for fun—rockets, race cars, robots, or any other kinetic or electrical systems.

Description
Reusable launch systems are the key to seamlessly connecting Earth and space. Rockets can only be built on rock solid foundations, and for Vehicle Software, that foundation is our firmware. A predominant number of components on our launch vehicle are controlled by our in-house firmware, playing an essential role in the hardware software interface. As a Firmware Engineer, you will develop, test, and deploy code that can reliably support mission operations.
If you are a software engineer that loves bits and bytes, moving electrons, and making fire, then this is the role for you. This job is multidisciplinary. Some days, you will be probing signals on a PCB, others you will be developing and testing new code, and others still you may be at the test site, installing and checking out a board being integrated onto an engine.
Responsibilities
- Own firmware for multiple avionics boards
- Collaborate with other embedded software engineers to develop a scalable stack and maintain a coherent interface with adjacent systems
- Work with electrical engineers to bring up boards, write firmware that meets mission requirements, and test boards to these requirements
- Debug failures or issues that live at the intersection of hardware and software
- Support teams that are using the firmware you've written by providing technical knowledge and documentation
- Contribute to the vehicle's electrical and software architecture
Qualifications
- BSE in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related degree
- 2+ years of experience developing, testing, and deploying embedded systems (project teams, personal projects, and research can count for this)
- Experience in Rust
- Experience using electrical lab equipment, such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
- Strong systems thinking and debugging skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Rigorous attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with reading and writing electrical schematics, preferably in Altium
- Familiarity with networking concepts such as UDP, MAC layer, subnets
- Demonstrated ability to write embedded rust, such as embassy
- Experience with RTOS and real time systems
- Familiarity with data acquisition systems (DAQ)

Target Levels:
- Level 1 Range: $98,805 - $148,155
- Level 2 Range: $123,480 - $185,220
- Level 3 Range: $154,350 - $231,525
