At Asana, we believe AI represents the future of work, and APIs are at the heart of how AI connects with the tools where work happens. Asana’s API team owns the gateways that enable data flow into and out of Asana, whether via the public API used to build new apps and agents or our MCP server that enables LLMs to take action in response to natural language. Asana’s rich developer platform and app ecosystem help ensure we can support every use case out there–no matter how big or small the team, and no matter which tools or workflows they use.
We’re looking for a staff-level Technical Lead to drive execution and technical vision for our developer platform. Our API team has huge, cross-cutting scope: one day you’ll be partnering with Product to define what a great agentic experience looks like and contributing to the direction of industry-wide protocols, the next you’ll be setting best practices for exposing new Asana functionality via the public API and architecting foundational changes to our API’s core feature set and frameworks, all while mentoring the engineers and developer advocates on the team. If you care deeply about building an agentic future for the enterprise and leading high-performing engineering teams, then we’d love to hear from you!

We're scaling rapidly and have a growing pipeline of opportunities that demand exceptional talent across disciplines. Our mission is to bring on individuals, from creative producers to technical experts to entrepreneurial leaders, who can help us realize this next chapter of growth.
We are a company of doers. Leaders roll up their sleeves, teams work flat, and everyone contributes to what ships. Titles don't insulate us from feedback or basics. We invite critique, learn quickly, and keep raising the bar. The best ideas win here, no matter where they come from, because clients trust us to deliver the strongest outcomes every time.
Our clients' missions, products, and bottom lines are sacred. We immerse ourselves in their world, becoming stewards of their goals and partners in solving big problems. Every product, strategy, or asset we create must be both beautiful and functional; practical, usable, and designed for real-world impact.
Humans are our most valuable resource, and we only grow by hiring people who push us forward. Across strategy, engineering, design, data, and operations, we seek out teammates who raise the bar and make us better. Always hire up, never down.
We partner with organizations of all sizes to explore, design, and implement AI strategies that are secure, scalable, and human-centered. We believe AI should amplify human potential, not replace it, and we build with that conviction in every engagement. From advisory and tooling to implementation and education, we meet clients where they are and help them integrate AI in ways that align with their mission and values. Our goal is to empower teams to work smarter, move faster, and unlock new possibilities through thoughtful, responsible innovation.
And through it all, we lead with purpose, love, and adventure. We do meaningful work with people we care about, and we make the ride an adventure worth taking. Because at Human Agency, who we are and how we work are one and the same.
Human Agency is an AI-native consultancy that builds, ships, and operates alongside our clients. We don’t advise from the sideline — we embed inside enterprise organizations and deploy production AI systems that do real work.
Our current anchor engagement is inside one of the largest privately held construction enterprises in the United States — LLM orchestration, document intelligence, workflow automation, enterprise integration. Not strategy decks. Not innovation labs. Systems that run.
We need a Managing Director of Technology to own the technical side of the house as we scale Human Agency. That means leading client delivery, making architecture calls, building the engineering team, and being the technical voice in rooms with C-suite executives. You’ll work closely on strategy with both the Founder and the Managing Director of AI — but the technical execution, the team, and the platform are yours.
This role requires someone who can move between writing production code and presenting to a client’s CEO in the same week. If that sounds like whiplash, this isn’t the right fit. If that sounds like Tuesday, keep reading.
Lead technical delivery for enterprise clients. You’re the most senior technical person in the room on our biggest engagements. You decide what’s feasible, design the architecture, and make sure it ships. When a client executive asks “can we do this?” — you’re the one who answers.
Build how we deliver, not just what we deliver. One client engagement works because of talented people and brute effort. Ten engagements work because of systems. You design the repeatable model — how we scope, staff, build, and deploy — so the team can run engagements without you in every meeting. That means building discovery frameworks, reference architectures, deployment templates, and evaluation routines that actually get used.
Hire and develop the engineering team. You set the bar, own the pipeline, and make the calls on who joins. We need people who can build with high autonomy in ambiguous environments, and you know how to find them. You also know how to make good engineers better through architecture guidance, code review, and honest feedback.
Own platform and infrastructure decisions. Build vs. buy, tooling, deployment, security — you make the calls. A Principal Engineer handles day-to-day infrastructure execution; you set priorities and architectural direction.
Shape our AI strategy through the lens of what actually ships. You have real opinions on LLM orchestration, RAG, agents, evaluation, and fine-tuning — formed by building things, not reading about them. You decide which technical bets we make and which we skip, based on what creates value for clients, not what looks good on a slide.
Bonus points for: you’ve scaled a startup or early-stage company before — built the team, built the systems, lived through the growing pains; experience in a services or consultancy model (SOWs, staffing, client delivery); a network of engineers you’ve worked with and would hire again.
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; advanced degrees are a plus but not required
Ethics: Commitment to responsible AI practices — transparency, human oversight, privacy
Travel: Periodic (10–20%) for client work, team offsites, and events
Location: Remote-friendly; U.S. or Canada, with preference for EST timezone alignment
We’re profitable, growing, and building AI systems that run in production for billion-dollar companies. The team is small, the clients are real, and the work matters.
The work is real and the opportunity is massive. We’re building a company — the systems, the team, the delivery model, the culture — and we need someone to own the technical side of that build.
If you’re the kind of person who’d rather build the engine than describe the engine, we want to talk.
Human Agency is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We value diverse perspectives and are committed to building inclusive, high-performing teams where everyone can do their best work.

About the Opportunity
We are looking for a Staff Platform Engineer to serve as the architect of our edge.
In this critical role, you will own the boundary between the world and our platform. You will own the "Customer Edge"—the mission-critical software gateways that run inside hospital networks, acting as the secure bridge for DICOM and HL7 data into our cloud platform.
You will solve unique distributed systems challenges: How do you buffer terabytes of imaging data on-premise when the hospital's internet goes down? How do you safely auto-update thousands of remote agents behind strict enterprise firewalls? How do you enforce fairness and rate limiting to prevent one tenant from degrading the experience for everyone else?
This is a hands-on leadership role. You will write high-performance code, define the architectural patterns for edge ingestion, and mentor engineers on the nuances of network reliability and secure tunneling.

The Production Services Technician (PST) role is a vital cornerstone of the facility, responsible for securing, manipulating, and managing production data throughout all stages of the production life cycle. PSTs collaborate with multiple departments to refine workflows, establish procedure guidelines, and ensure operational efficiency. Their work is critical to the success of every show, directly impacting all departments. PSTs are vital to the filmmaking process and essential to maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the pipeline.
PSTs are not just responsible for managing tasks like cue management, backups, and data transfer, but also building, maintaining, and optimizing the tools and pipelines that drive these processes. By developing and modifying python tools and scripts throughout the course of a show, PSTs ensure that these tasks become seamless and efficient, even during high-pressure crunch times. The true value of a PST lies in their ability to automate and streamline workflows, making complex tasks effortless, preventing bottlenecks, and ensuring that production remains uninterrupted and efficient, no matter the scale.
With deep expertise in the facility's departments, pipeline, and workflows, PSTs gain invaluable exposure across production, positioning them as strong candidates for career advancement and diverse opportunities within the company. Many former PSTs have advanced into prominent positions, including production management, technical direction, software development, systems engineering, and artist roles. This position provides a unique opportunity to build a broad skill set, paving the way for long-term career growth. For more information about the PST program, please watch our recruiting video.
Key Responsibilities:

Following established guidelines based on both internal and show-specific standards to maintain accurate data locations, file types, naming standards, resolution/colorspace specifications, audio/video codecs, and security allowances.
Ingest/Deliveries: Ingest and deliver high-priority media from vendors and clients, ensuring it conforms to facility standards, is transferred between locations following security & firewall policies all while automating processes to enhance efficiency and streamline workflows.
Technical Support and Communication: Serve as a key liaison between production, digital artists, and support teams, providing technical expertise that ensures seamless integration and smooth workflows, while effectively communicating with both technical and non-technical team members.
Issue Management: Submit prompt and detailed information through support channels, clearly communicating issues and potential solutions to Color Scientists, Resources, Production, Systems, and Software teams, while monitoring critical servers & networks to minimize workflow disruptions and ensure swift resolution.
Documentation and Testing: Test and document workflows, tools, and processes across I/O pipelines, command-line utilities, queuing plugins, directory and file structure management, proprietary software, and script-driven automation to ensure seamless and efficient production operations.
Coverage Support: Providing support across all phases of a project often requires flexibility with shift schedules, including early morning or late afternoon starts, as well as evening & weekend overtime during critical phases of a show to ensure seamless production continuity.
Qualifications:
Strong experience with Linux or UNIX operating systems
High proficiency in coordinated software programming & troubleshooting (Bash, Python, GIT)
Previous leadership or managerial experience, preferred
Customer service experience with the ability to effectively manage client interactions and resolve issues
Ability to triage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure production environment
