SPACE SYSTEMS

Rocket Lab’s Space Systems team is responsible for every satellite and satellite component made by Rocket Lab: from complete satellites destined for missions to the Moon and Mars, to the individual components and subsystems that make up a satellite like solar panels, flight software, reaction wheels and star trackers, separation systems, radios, and more. Our Space Systems team is made up of engineers, technicians, and designers who design, create, and put together our own satellites for missions across the commercial, government, and defense sectors, or who build and assemble satellite hardware and software that supports other satellite missions.

PROGRAM MANAGER II/SENIOR, ADCS COMPONENTS

Based out of Rocket Lab's office in Toronto, Canada, the Program Manager, ADCS Components is responsible for managing programmatic internal and customer-facing activities for the Rocket Lab Attitude Determination and Control System (ADCS) component programs. The role is primarily focused on close collaboration with Production, Engineering, and Operations teams to gather the information needed to prepare higher level plans, forecasts and responses required both internally and by the customers.

The role requires technical knowledge of the satellite ADCS system in general, and reaction wheels and star trackers in particular, in order to understand nuances in the product’s production and testing; and to independently convey the feedback to their customers in a concise and cohesive manner. Within the Product Security team, our Red Team delivers robust security assurance for Okta's products, services, and infrastructure.  You will be the team's dedicated infrastructure and tooling engineer, the first person in this role for a small team of operators. You will work alongside operators but not report through an operator chain; you'll collaborate as a peer focused on a different discipline.

We seek a Staff Security Infrastructure Engineer to own the engineering backbone that enables our operations. This is not a traditional operator role but a dedicated infrastructure, tooling, and automation engineering position embedded within the Red Team.  You will design, build, maintain, and continuously improve the platforms, infrastructure, and custom tooling that our operators depend on to execute engagements.

The Team

Platform Engineering is the department within SRE that is responsible for a range of critical infrastructure and operational functions that support the broader engineering organization. Among these are our multi-cloud-provider Kubernetes infrastructure, networking, load balancing (including our public-facing edge and internal service mesh), and observability and alerting systems.

The Fleet Management team provides the core runtime environment that empowers our developers to build and ship products to delight our customers. We manage the end-to-end lifecycle of our Kubernetes fleet, alongside the critical components that ensure cluster reliability and security (e.g., CoreDNS, cert-manager, and Gatekeeper). Overview:

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will sit at the intersection of infrastructure reliability and developer experience. You will not only maintain the scalability of our Kubernetes based cloud environment but also work collaboratively on the shift toward a self-service platform model.

Privacy & Data Protection Architecture 

• Define and maintain enterprise privacy-by-design and privacy-by-default architectures. 
• Architect data protection controls across applications, infrastructure, cloud, and data platforms. 
• Establish standards for data classification, handling, retention, archiving, and secure destruction. 
• Ensure consistent application of data protection controls across on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments. 

Regulatory & Governance Leadership

Data Lifecycle & Enterprise Integration 

• Architect solutions for data discovery, data mapping, and records of processing activities (RoPA). 
• Ensure privacy requirements are integrated into SDLC, DevSecOps, and data engineering pipelines. 
• Support privacy requirements for AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics use cases. 
• Ensure auditability, traceability, and accountability of data usage. 

Third-Party & Cloud Data Protection 

• Define architectures for secure data sharing with third parties and vendors. 
• Establish data protection requirements for outsourcing, SaaS, and cloud providers. 
• Architect controls for cross-border data transfers and data residency requirements. 

Incident & Breach Management (Privacy Context) 

• Support design of data breach detection, response, and notification processes. 
• Act as senior advisor during privacy incidents and regulatory reporting. 
• Ensure evidence collection and documentation meet regulatory expectations. 

Leadership & Advisory 

• Act as the senior subject matter expert for data protection and privacy architecture. 
• Mentor privacy analysts, GRC professionals, and security architects. 
• Communicate privacy risks, architectural decisions, and mitigation strategies to executives and boards. 
• Represent the organization with regulators, auditors, and external stakeholders when required. 

Qualifications and Experience 

• Deep expertise in data protection and privacy-by-design principles. 
• Strong understanding of privacy regulations and standards: GDPR, Quebec Law 25, PIPEDA, ISO/IEC 27701 
• Ability to design enterprise data protection architectures across: Applications, Databases, Cloud platforms, Data lakes and analytics environments 
• Expertise in data classification, data mapping, and records of processing activities (RoPA). 
• Strong knowledge of data security controls: Encryption (at rest, in transit, and in use), Key management systems (KMS, HSM), Tokenization, anonymization, and pseudonymization, Data Loss Prevention (DLP) 
• Experience architecting identity and access controls for sensitive data: Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC), Privileged Access Management (PAM) 
• Ability to design data retention, archiving, and secure data destruction strategies. 
• Familiarity with cloud-native data protection and governance tools: Azure Purview / Microsoft Purview, AWS Macie, Google Cloud DLP
• Experience integrating privacy and data protection into: DLC and DevSecOps pipelines, Data engineering and analytics workflows
• Ability to assess privacy risks in AI, machine learning, and large-scale data processing systems.
• Strong understanding of logging, monitoring, auditability, and evidence collection.
• Experience with privacy management and GRC platforms: OneTrust, TrustArc, ServiceNow GRC
• CIPP/E, CIPP/C, CIPM, ISO/IEC 27701 Lead Implementer / Lead Auditor, CDPSE, CISSP (an asset)

Compensation (Ontario)  

The salary range provided reflects a good faith estimate based on factors such as experience, technical expertise, location, and relevant certifications. Final compensation will be determined according to the specific circumstances of each candidate. 

Estimated salary range: $110,000 to $150,000 per year.

How you'll make an impact:

• Develop a comprehensive commercial and Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy encompassing new product introductions and the entire product lifecycle to stimulate revenue growth, enhance profit margins, secure competitive advantage, and expand market share.

• Provide cross functional leadership in  GTM planning cycles for upcoming product/solution releases, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy, product roadmaps, and revenue goals.

• Connect the product road map to the revenue plan:  Develop the strategic business case for new products in partnership with key stakeholders during the discovery phase, ensuring product development is aligned with a validated and profitable path to market. This foundational work includes shaping revenue plans, pricing models, and resource forecasts to secure investment and guide the product roadmap.

• Provide leadership in regular cross-functional GTM readiness meetings providing support to manage dependencies, identify risks, and drive resolution of roadblocks to ensure on-time, high-impact launches.

• Collaborate closely with Product Marketing to ensure messaging, positioning, and launch assets are aligned with the GTM plan and commercial strategy and effectively support sales and partner enablement.

• Partner with sales, Channel Teams, Partner Program, Revenue Operations, Sales Enablement to define launch-specific sales targets, enablement requirements, compensation considerations, and reporting needs. Develop and oversee the execution of channel and direct sales team readiness plan, ensuring they are informed, trained, and incentivized.

• Partner with finance on revenue planning, pricing and costing for new product launches

  Work with Product Management and Operations teams to ensure product, supply chain, etc. readiness in alignment with GTM plan

• Establish and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for launches, such as pipeline generation, adoption rates, partner engagement, and time-to-revenue, creating dashboards with Revenue Operations to monitor success.

• Collaborate with Sales and marketing to sustain launch metrics and implement programs for base retention and expansion

• Define key success metrics for launches (e.g., pipeline generation, adoption rates, revenue attainment, partner engagement, time-to-revenue) and establish dashboards/reporting mechanisms with Rev Ops.

• Drive a culture of continuous improvement by leading post-launch retrospectives (post-mortems) to identify lessons learned and refine our GTM playbook.
