Role Overview

The Interactive Brokers Global Tax Team serves an important role in the success of our business. We mitigate risk and create value for our business and our customers. The Global Tax Team sets the tax policy for the company, and identifies, develops, implements, and manages tax strategies to help minimize our overall tax cost. We advise on the tax aspects of our product offerings to customers, manage tax audits, and ensure financial reporting and tax returns are filed timely and accurately.

We are seeking a highly skilled tax professional to join our Global Tax team with a focus on customer taxes in European markets. This role will report to the Director of UK & APAC Tax and work alongside other members of the Global Tax Team, particularly the U.S.-based information reporting & withholding tax team, to ensure comprehensive global coverage of customer tax obligations. While the initial focus will be on designing and developing customer tax statements for European retail clients, this role requires robust experience and solid technical understanding of information reporting and withholding tax requirements across European countries.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical tax knowledge of investment products, deep expertise in European tax filing obligations by retail customers, and knowledge of information reporting and withholding obligations by brokers, and the ability to translate complex tax requirements into operational processes and customer communications. A successful candidate will be a collaborative team player who is entrepreneurial, detail-oriented, and an excellent communicator.

Responsibilities

Customer Tax Statement Development & Delivery

• Design, develop, and maintain customer tax statements for European retail clients covering a wide range of investment products including stocks, bonds, mutual funds, ETFs, futures, options, and other derivatives
• Ensure tax statements comply with local tax reporting requirements and formats across multiple European jurisdictions
• Review and validate tax calculations for accuracy, including capital gains/losses, dividend income, interest income, withholding taxes, and tax reclaim information
• Partner with Technology teams to implement and enhance automated tax statement generation processes
• Create customer-facing documentation and guidance materials explaining tax statement information and tax reporting obligations

Product & Venue Analysis

• Research and analyse new and existing product offerings and new venue launches to determine customer tax implications, information reporting requirements, and withholding tax obligations for European markets
• Provide technical guidance on tax treatment and reporting obligations for various investment products and transaction types
• Draft functional requirements for information reporting and withholding tax features to software development teams
• Develop and maintain tax calculation methodologies for complex products and cross-border transactions

Research, Monitoring & Continuous Improvement

• Monitor, research, and analyse new laws and changes to existing laws that impact customer information reporting, withholding tax, and tax statement requirements across European countries
• Assess impact of legislative changes on IBKR’s processes and systems and communicate requirements to relevant stakeholders
• Identify and design system improvements that automate processes related to customer tax documentation, information reporting, withholding tax, and tax statement generation
• Develop and document standard operating procedures for information reporting, withholding tax operations, and tax statement preparation
• Assist with research, development, and integration of new tax technologies, including tax data collection and automation
• Contribute to special projects related to customer tax reporting, withholding, and technology enhancements

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

Required:

• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in tax with strong focus on tax treatment and impact to customers from investment activities, preferably in financial services, brokerage firms, asset management, Big 4 public accounting, or tax advisory
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field; professional tax qualification (CTA, ADIT, or equivalent) strongly preferred
• Robust technical knowledge and operational experience in European information reporting and withholding tax requirements, including:
• Country-specific reporting obligations and forms in major European jurisdictions
• Withholding tax rules, rates, and treaty relief procedures
• Customer tax documentation requirements and validation processes
• Regulatory reporting frameworks (CRS, DAC reporting, etc.)
• Strong technical knowledge of tax treatment for retail investors across various client tax profile and various investment products including:
• Equities and bonds (domestic and cross-border)
• Mutual funds, ETFs, and collective investment schemes
• Derivatives (futures, options, CFDs, warrants)
• Foreign exchange transactions
• Corporate actions (dividends, interest, stock splits, mergers, spin-offs)
• Solid understanding of capital gains taxation, dividend taxation, interest taxation, and withholding tax rules in European countries
• Knowledge of cross-border taxation issues, tax treaty provisions, and beneficial ownership concepts
• Experience drafting functional requirements for tax technology systems
• Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Excel and ability to work with large datasets
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with technology teams and translate tax requirements into system specifications

Preferred:

• In addition to English, fluency in a major European language such as German or French is a big plus
• Advanced degree such as a law degree (J.D., LL.M.) or equivalent legal qualification or professional certifications such as CTA (Chartered Tax Adviser), ADIT (Advanced Diploma in International Taxation), ATT, or local equivalent
• Experience with automated tax reporting and withholding systems and tax technology platforms
• Direct experience in brokerage operations and investment product mechanics
• Experience with tax reporting and withholding in multiple European countries (Germany, France, Netherlands, Italy, etc.)
• Knowledge of financial transaction taxes in European markets
• Experience managing tax audits or penalty abatement processes
• Basic knowledge of U.S. GAAP tax accounting (ASC 740-10)

What You'll Do

In this role, you will report to the VP, Head of Medical Affairs, International and partner closely with the Director, Commercial Excellence, International. You will be responsible for establishing and optimizing Medical Affairs operations and processes, including medical information, while facilitating and coordinating medical planning activities across the organization. You will lead the implementation and continuous improvement of systems such as medical CRM and contribute to excellence in scientific engagement. As a central member of the Medical Affairs organization, you will play a key role in supporting the successful launch of new therapies in rare genetic diseases, working cross-functionally to ensure aligned, efficient, and high-quality execution of medical strategies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver comprehensive onboarding and continuous learning curricula 
• Contribute to annual medical planning across brands 
• Contribute to successful medical launches by building a close partnership with the Commercial Excellence counterpart
• Manage and oversee multiple projects, including medical launch readiness and annual medical planning across brands, to drive consistency and efficiency across the medical organization
• Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and innovation in both medical excellence and operations within the Intl Medical Affairs organisation 
• Establish and maintain systems and dashboards as relevant for reporting key execution indicators and outcomes of medical activities
• Collaborate cross-functionally to generate insights and shape strategy using data analytics, demonstrating the value and impact of Medical to the business
• Lead and support core medical processes across brands, including publications and medical congresses and symposia
• Support the management and tracking of the medical budget

Medical Operations & systems  

• Establish and implement medical information processes and systems
• Establish and lead the international Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) review process in collaboration with Legal and Regulatory teams
• Lead the implementation of a medical CRM, as applicable, for the International Medical organization

Who You Are

• Medical degree or Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (advanced degree preferred)
• Extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry (10+ years), with a solid understanding of drug development and clinical research
• Experience in rare diseases is an advantage
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with experience developing and implementing effective communication and engagement plans
• Strong expertise in systems, platforms, and methodologies, including the generation of associated reports
• Proven experience in establishing and managing medical processes, such as medical information, annual medical planning, and implementation of new systems and innovative ways of working

Join our fast-growing Crypto Finance team as a Finance Associate, supporting the financial operations of IMC's global digital asset business. You will be responsible for managing essential financial processes while collaborating with various departments and regions. This is a hands-on role that requires both meticulous attention to detail and the ability to contribute to broader strategic initiatives.

Your expertise in finance and regulatory environments will be key to driving IMC's growth as we continue to scale our crypto operations globally. You will engage closely with stakeholders across research, procurement, mid-office, auditors, and regulatory bodies, ensuring smooth financial operations across the organization.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day accounting tasks for our entities, ensuring compliance with local GAAP / IFRS standards
• Oversee and prepare financial and management reports for multiple global entities
  • Support on month-end processes such as invoice booking, payroll, payments, reconciliations, cost allocations and bookkeeping
  • Support preparation and oversee process for financial audit(s) of our entities
  • Prepare yearly tax submissions for the relevant geographies
  • Support in financial reporting requirements for other external stakeholders (credit ratings agencies)
• Assist in budgeting, financial forecasting and drive process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency and compliance through automation

Your Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• 3-5 years of relevant experience; experience at a Big 4 auditing/accounting firm is a plus
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and ERP / accounting software (experience with Workday is a plus)
• Strong knowledge of financial processes and reporting for multiple entities
• Interest in digital assets; prior knowledge is an advantage but not required
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Self-driven, proactive, and capable of working independently
