Help us evolve and scale the Bloomreach Engagement UI design system and become our new UI Developer. Implement new designs, and create and maintain UI components used across our product. You’ll sit at the intersection of design, engineering, and product, turning ideas into intuitive, robust, and beautiful interfaces. For candidates at the P3 / Senior level, starting monthly compensation begins at 3 500 € gross, with the final offer tailored for each candidate based on their skills and experience. Working in one of our Central European offices (Bratislava, Brno, Prague) or from home on a full-time basis, you’ll become a core part of our Frontend Team.
What tech stack do we use?
- Our styles are written in Sass (SCSS).
- Our Engagement app currently runs on Angular.
- We use JavaScript/TypeScript for application logic.
- We use Git for version control.
- Our build process uses Nx + Angular CLI, with custom ts-node and Node scripts.
You don’t need to be an expert in every framework from day one, but you should be comfortable working in at least one modern SPA framework (Angular, React, or Vue) and curious to learn the others.
What challenge awaits you?
As a Bloomreach UI Developer, you will be the go‑to person for:
- Designing and implementing UI components and patterns that are reused across the Engagement app.
- Evolving our in‑house UI framework and design system so that it’s easier and faster for product and engineering teams to build consistent experiences.
- Collaborating tightly with product designers to bring new ideas to life and to keep our visual language coherent.
- Bringing a CSS architecture mindset to a large codebase so styles remain modular, predictable, and easy to refactor over time.
- Leveraging AI in your daily work — from code generation and refactoring suggestions to documentation and quick UI experiments.
Our goal is to make our Engagement app easy to use and visually pleasant for our customers. You’ll operate on three levels: bug fixing, maintenance and creation of UI components, and implementation of new designs — with a strong focus on the design‑system layer and product outcomes. Having a great developer experience is also something we’re serious about.
Your job will be to:
- Expand & maintain our UI design system and components library
- Improve & maintain our in‑house SCSS framework
- Implement new designs and product experiences
a. Expand & maintain our UI design system and components library
- Understand how our components work under the hood and enable frontend developers to build advanced interfaces using our framework.
- Design and implement reusable UI primitives (tokens, layout primitives, form controls) and higher‑level components in a way that can be applied across Angular applications.
- Revise code of the components frequently and keep up with the latest possibilities of CSS (e.g. container queries, cascade layers, new color functions) and how they affect our architecture.
- Ensure cross‑browser compatibility (modern browsers only) and good accessibility practices.
- Shape visual representation and behavior together with designers, acting as a technical partner in design reviews.
- Maintain and improve our internal “Showcase”/component gallery as a single source of truth for our design system (documentation, usage examples).
b. Improve & maintain our in‑house SCSS framework
- Extend and update core functions, mixins, and utilities that help us write styles efficiently and keep them easy to reason about.
- Evolve our CSS architecture (e.g. layers, naming conventions, design tokens, theming approach) to keep the system scalable as the product grows.
- Identify and remove legacy styles, dead code, and inconsistencies, focusing on performance and maintainability.
- Use AI‑powered tooling where it makes sense (code search, refactor suggestions, documentation summaries) to speed up this work.
c. Implement new designs and product experiences
- Update existing screens to match the latest design specs and interaction patterns.
- Research the best strategies for comprehensive changes — understanding how components are reused across screens and in different contexts — and propose pragmatic rollout plans.
- Work closely with product managers and designers to make trade‑offs that balance UX quality, technical feasibility, and delivery timelines.
- Ensure that visual and structural changes don’t introduce any bugs — partnering with QA and using tools (including AI‑assisted testing where appropriate) to catch regressions early.
Your success story will be:
- In 30 days, you will learn how our methodology works, ship your first UI bug fixes, and start contributing to small improvements in our design system.
- In 90 days, you will understand how our core components and SCSS framework work, co‑own at least one part of the design system, and support other frontend developers on a sprint project — including reviewing their usage of UI components and any styling or template changes.
- In 180 days, you will be able to tackle most tasks on your own, question and challenge designs with confidence, propose and drive improvements to our UI architecture, and help shape the future roadmap of our design system.
You have the following experience and qualities:
- Professional — CSS, Sass, working with browser, programming skills, Git, knowledge of Angular (optionally React or Vue), familiarity with web components is an advantage.

Professional experience
- Strong CSS and Sass skills — CSS will be your bread and butter and for a smooth experience it’s good if you know: selector types and specificity, fonts, relative units, box sizing, positioning, flexbox, grid, responsiveness, pseudo elements, animations, and their performance impacts.
- Experience with writing maintainable, modular, component‑based CSS
- Experience building or significantly contributing to a design system or UI component library (tokens, components, documentation, versioning, rollout).
- Comfortable with intermediate programming in JavaScript or TypeScript — structuring code, working with asynchronous logic, and debugging — and using that knowledge to implement or adjust UI behavior in Angular/React/Vue components.
- Hands‑on experience with at least one modern frontend framework (Angular, React, or Vue). Curiosity to apply design‑system thinking across frameworks is a plus.
- Familiarity with Git and standard workflows (branching, pull/merge requests, code review).
- A genuine passion for modern CSS and web UI, keeping an eye on new specs and browser capabilities and knowing when (and when not) to use them.
- An architecture mindset when it comes to stylesheets: you think in layers, dependencies, and long‑term maintainability, not just “what works right now”.
- Openness to leveraging AI in the development process — for example, using AI tools to explore refactoring options, generate variants, or support documentation — while still owning the final quality of the solution.

We are currently forming a team of software engineers dedicated to developing and maintaining Web & Mobile SDKs for our customers, and we are looking for a new colleague to join as a Senior Software Engineer for JS Web SDK & React Native Mobile SDK (Engagement). As a Senior Software Engineer for JS Web SDK & React Native Mobile SDK at our company, you'll encounter exciting, high-end technical challenges. You'll be part of a team that delivers innovative features, enabling our clients to build powerful mobile applications using Web & Mobile SDKs on platforms of their preference (Web: TypeScript, Mobile Natives: Android, iOS, Mobile Wrappers: React Native, Flutter). These SDKs track user behavior and provide capabilities to deliver personalized content. You’ll work on implementing and extending components that provide features like push notifications, in-app messaging, tracking, dynamic rendering, and many more. We will encourage you to explore and engage with various parts of our platform. Your primary focus will be in JavaScript / TypeScript for Web & Mobile React Native SDK Wrapper.
Your job will be to:
- Design & Deliver new features
- Ensure quality and compatibility
- Support and Maintain owned components
a. Design & Deliver new features
- Translate business requirements for product features into detailed technical specifications and comprehensive design documents.
- Define and develop new features with a strong emphasis on quality, usability, and performance.
- Build, publish and monitor new versions of React Native Platform, ensuring seamless adoption.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to incorporate best practices into the development process.
b. Ensure quality and compatibility
- Implement robust testing, and validation processes to ensure the reliability and stability of the new features.
- Measure and tune client-side performance of our features.
- Continuously improve the technical quality and ease of use of Web & React Native SDKs.
- Make sure we utilize all the mobile technologies in the best way - ensuring our Web & React Native SDKs are functional, secure and high performance.
- Conduct regular code reviews and use static code analysis tools to maintain high code quality.
- Collaborate with QA engineers to develop comprehensive test plans and automated tests.
c. Support and Maintain owned components
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing features, including troubleshooting issues, fixing bugs, and implementing enhancements.
- Support our client-facing colleagues in the investigation of possible issues (L3 support).
- Document code including guides, configuration instructions, feature descriptions, design decisions, and operational procedures to facilitate ongoing maintenance and knowledge sharing.
- Utilize feedback from users and stakeholders to continually improve the functionality and usability of Mobile SDKs.
What tech stack do we have for you?
- Web JavaScript / TypeScript SDK: JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML/CSS, Mustache, Jest, Karma, Docker
- React Native Wrapper Mobile SDK (Android & iOS): React Native, JavaScript & TypeScript, CocoaPods, Yarn, npm, Babel, Jest
- Common Tech Stack: Software & Tools - Grafana, Sentry, GitHub, GitLab, Jira, Productboard
You will be developing new features and maintaining the codebase to ensure compatibility with different versions. Therefore, you should be passionate about new features in mobile technologies, and be keen to investigate how personalization may work in the context of today's privacy-focused digital world.
Both Web & Mobile SDKs are being integrated with internal APIs written in Golang & Python, which run on top of Kubernetes and Google Cloud. While these won’t be your primary focus, we highly value your involvement in other parts of the platform.
Your success story will be:
- In 30 Days: Successfully onboard, get familiar with Web JavaScript / TypeScript & React Native Mobile SDKs, and contribute to ongoing tasks, demonstrating understanding of the codebase and team processes.
- In 90 Days: Contribute to design discussions and independently deliver high-quality code for assigned features. Participate in investigating and resolving production issues.
- In 180 Days: Independently manage larger tasks, contribute to team improvements, and confidently handle L3 support, investigating and resolving production issues.

- Experience with dynamic rendering would be a valued asset.

We want you to join us full-time as a Software Backend Engineer (medior level). You will work remotely first (from Central & Eastern Europe), but we are more than happy to meet you in our nice offices in Bratislava, Brno or Prague. For candidates at the P2 / Software Engineer II level, starting monthly compensation begins at 2 900 € gross, with the final offer tailored for each candidate based on their skills and experience. Stock options and a comprehensive benefits package are also included.
The Pulsar team builds platform and admin services that all Bloomreach SaaS products rely on. In your first year, you’ll develop features used by thousands of customers and deliver fast, consistent, and high-energy (but low-drama) product releases. We all work remotely from the US, India, and Europe.

Your typical day
Your day begins with review of a US teammate’s GitLab merge request. It has already been reviewed by Claude, but you’ll think deeply about the business problem, alternative solutions, and future needs. Then you spend a few undisturbed hours “in the flow,” working on changes to the user management APIs to support a UX improvement that a designer suggested yesterday. Soon, all your new unit tests are green. With a few keystrokes, you create a merge request, spin up a dev instance, and deploy your change. After some quick smoke tests, you send a link to a frontend engineer who is collaborating with our team.
After lunch, you join your team for a quick standup via Zoom to discuss current work and the plan for the next few days. A teammate offers to review your new code. It has some complex behavior, so you walk through it together and make a few improvements.
The frontend engineer confirms over Slack that your API changes provide what they need. You merge it, which automatically retests and deploys to a staging environment. The UI changes and a few more integration tests from the QA team will be merged in a day or two. Your improvement will be in production in a few weeks.
Next, you respond to a Slack request for advice on integrating with the authorization API. You draft a short tech design doc that links the API spec, code examples, and optimization tips. You discuss it on the team channel, and your manager forwards it to another team that’s also starting a new service.
Your day ends with a quick chat with a product manager about another idea….

- Some experience with Java / Spring or Go
