Team Overview

The team is responsible for the customers’ product discovery experience on Coupang and Coupang Eats, including search and recommendation quality, product ranking on category pages, and review ranking.
Search and Recommendation is a fast-growing area, and we are working to improve the quality of recommendations to ensure that customers find the best products for them. We are aiming to provide customers with a ‘wow’ shopping experience by offering them with the products they like even before they express their intent, which is one of the best discovery experiences in e-commerce. We use the state-of-the-art Machine Learning and Deep Learning technologies to ensure the best quality of recommendations, and we are continuously innovating and building highly scalable systems to support the growing business and customer engagement.

Role Overview

As a Staff Machine Learning Engineer for Search and Recommendations, you will be responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and improvement of the end-to-end search and recommendation quality and systems. This encompasses our online recommendation ranking models/systems, multiple data pipelines that produce the candidates and features (offline and online) used across various ranking algorithms, a serving system that produces the recommendation result and product ranking result across the Coupang and Coupang Eats. You will need to collaborate closely with the global teams that share ownership of customers’ product discovery experiences in Coupang. You will run experiments to validate in a controlled environment and launch any features and ranking improvements that would improve the customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Strongly own the Recommendation service, one of the most critical for Coupang to make sure we are wowing customers constantly.
• Collaborate tightly with multiple global teams across the company to co-build a world class recommendation system
• Mine vast amount of data to gain insights from customer behavior
• Develop new Machine Learning models and features to create new recommendation algorithm or improve existing algorithms
• Create data jobs to generate Machine Learning features; build and train new models; run experiments to validate and launch new models

Qualifications

• Experience working with large-scale, complex datasets to extract robust features and create reliable machine learning models.

Intern, AI Agent Engineering

AI 에이전트 엔지니어링 인턴은 엔지니어링 및 제품 팀과 협력하여 지능형 에이전트를 구축, 통합 및 배포합니다. 
최신 웹 프레임워크, LLM API 및 툴링 파이프라인을 사용하여 프로토타입부터 프로덕션까지 실무 경험을 쌓게 됩니다. 인턴십 기간은 8~12주 입니다.

이런 일을 하실 수 있어요

• 에이전트 프로토타이핑 및 개발
  • 프롬프트 엔지니어링으로 Hallucination 탐지, 대화 Resolution 등 마이크로 API 개발업무를 합니다.
  • 내부 데이터셋과 도구를 활용해 AI Agent의 정확도를 테스트하고 검증합니다. 
  • 검색 증강 생성(RAG), 지식 기반 및 맞춤형 툴체인을 지원하는 백엔드 API를 통합합니다.
• 프롬프트 엔지니어링 및 툴링
  • 다양한 사용 사례에 맞는 프롬프트를 제작, 테스트 및 세부 조정합니다.
  • 프롬프트 버전 및 에이전트 배포를 위한 CI/CD 파이프라인을 설정합니다.

Flexible Work Policy

We offer a flexible work schedule at Sendbird.  We also value collaboration and relationship building.  With those values in mind, we require all employees within an hour's commute range of their local office to gather with their team in the office three days per week as a minimum.  Some of our roles require a more frequent in-office schedule.  Please work with your manager to understand the office time requirements for your position.
