About the team
Portfolio Solutions is the team within Nu Asset Management responsible for the firm's ETFs and systematic fundos, and the allocation models behind our products and the broader Nubank ecosystem. We believe most of an investor's long-term return comes down to three things: cost, allocation, and discipline. Our job is to deliver all three at scale — which means we treat infrastructure, automation, and AI tooling as core to investment research, not as side projects.
We're looking for a quantitative analyst to strengthen our research, index construction, allocation modeling, and the platform that ties it all together.
What you'll do
- Research, design, and implement indices and systematic strategies across fixed income, equities, and derivatives — including structures such as covered calls, duration barbells, and factor portfolios
- Build and maintain multi-asset allocation models, with attention to efficient replication, tracking error control, and transaction costs
- Run rigorous backtests: no look-ahead, no survivorship, realistic costs. We don't publish a curve without out-of-sample replication
- Help build the quantitative infrastructure of the team: reusable data pipelines, backtest frameworks, monitoring dashboards, and reporting workflows on Databricks. The goal is that every model you build outlives the project it was born in
- Develop AI-powered tools for investment research: LLM-driven analysts on top of our internal datasets, agents for routine analytical tasks, copilots that compress the distance between question and answer for the whole team
- Support the launch of new ETFs — from index methodology to interactions with index prodviders, market makers, administrators, and custodians
- Read papers, replicate results, and tell apart what works from what looks like it works
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field: engineering, math, physics, statistics, economics, computer science, quantitative finance, or equivalent
- 3+ years in quantitative research, systematic asset management, risk, or adjacent roles
- Strong Python (pandas, numpy, scipy). Comfort writing code that other people will read, run, and extend
- Curiosity about — and ideally experience with — building production-grade analytical infrastructure: pipelines, jobs, dashboards, internal tools
- Genuine interest in applying LLMs and AI agents to quantitative work, not just as users but as builders
- Familiarity with the Brazilian market: NTN-B, IMA, Ibovespa, B3 derivatives, local ETF dynamics
- A collaborative, constructive way of working: you ask for help when stuck, you offer help when others are, you document, you review code, you disagree clearly without making it personal, and you give credit generously
- Ability to communicate quantitative results clearly — to portfolio managers, commercial teams, and ultimately to the end investor
Nice to have
- CFA, CAIA, FRM, or a graduate degree in a quantitative field
- Experience with ETFs, index replication, or benchmark construction
- Hands-on Databricks (Workflows, Delta, Unity Catalog, Databricks Apps), version control discipline, MLOps fundamentals

AI Platform Team - The mission of the AI Platform team is bold: to democratize AI by empowering every Nubanker—not just Data Scientists—with safe, scalable, and accurate Machine Learning capabilities.
We are looking for a Manager who is passionate about creating solutions that push the boundaries of our current stack. You will help us move beyond basic DS work to abstract the complexities of the entire ML lifecycle—from training and deployment to serving and governance.

We are scaling. Currently, our structure has grown significantly, and to ensure the organization's health and the growth of our engineers, we are opening this position to lead a dedicated squad. You will take ownership of a team that manages the base infrastructure for the entire Data Science function at Nubank.
You'll be responsible for:
As the ML Manager for the AI Platform, you will combine technical leadership with people management. You will lead a squad of 11 Machine Learning Engineers (varying from Senior to Intern levels) and work closely with a Staff ML Engineer and a Product Manager.
- People Management: Foster a culture of feedback and growth. You will guide the development of your direct reports, conducting performance reviews and helping them navigate their careers.
- Strategic Roadmap: Translate high-level business goals into actionable technical roadmaps. You will discuss needs with stakeholders and define the "how" and "when."

What we are looking for
You don't need to be a hands-on coder 100% of the time, but you must have the technical depth to challenge the team and understand the ecosystem.

- Domain Expertise: Solid background in ML Engineering, AI, or Data Science, specifically with a focus on MLOps, Infrastructure, and Platform building.

Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in a technical support or engineering role related to Databricks Data Intelligence platform, cloud data platforms, or big data technologies.
- Technical Skills: A deep understanding of Databricks architecture and Apache Spark™, along with experience in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, is essential. Strong capabilities in designing and managing data pipelines, distributed computing are required. - Provide excellent customer support - be knowledgeable and empathetic in customer communications over email and video, act with a sense of urgency to find mitigations and solutions, diffuse escalations during incidents and be proactive at helping prevent future customer problems.
- Help make the Databricks products simpler to use and customer production environments more stable - such as through coordinating with Engineering and Backline Support teams to identify areas for product improvements.
- Develop expertise in productionizing systems in Databricks and share your knowledge by contributing to wikis and other technical documentation to be used internally or externally by customers and partners.
What we look for:
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in designing, building, testing, and maintaining Python/Java/Scala based applications in typical project delivery and consulting environments.
- Experience with SQL databases or data warehouses (such as Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server, MySQL) and ETL technologies (such as Informatica, DataStage, Talend, Fivetran).
- 3 years of hands-on experience in developing two or more Big Data technologies such as Spark & Hadoop, Lakehouse architecture - such as Delta, Data Ingestion, Data Streaming applications, or ML/AI applications for industry use cases.
- Hands-on experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting of Data and AI applications at production scale - including query optimization, memory management, garbage collection, and heap/thread dump analysis.
- Prior Support or customer facing experience is not required for this role, but the ability and desire to develop excellent customer service skills is.
- Preferrable: Hands-on experience with public cloud (AWS or Azure or GCP).
- Technical degree or the equivalent experience.

You'll be responsible for
- Designing Secure Data Architectures: Independently build and evolve secure data ingestion, transformation, and analytics pipelines that support sensitive and regulated data across all analytics environments.
- Implementing Platform-Level Security: Drive the rollout of improvements such as classification tags, policy-driven access controls, and automated validations to reduce risk without compromising system performance.
- Governing Data Models: Own the design and evolution of data models and semantic views that enforce security and privacy requirements by default.
- Operationalizing Metadata and Lineage: Lead initiatives to track data lineage and sensitivity metadata across critical sources, enabling scalable governance and observability.

- Security Control Implementation: Strong working knowledge of encryption, masking, tokenization, classification, and fine-grained access control (RBAC/ABAC).
- Advanced Analytical Skills: High proficiency in SQL and experience designing analytical data models with a focus on performance, correctness, and sensitive data handling.
- Production-Grade Programming: Proficiency in writing maintainable and testable code in at least one language, such as Python, Scala, Clojure, or Go.

About the role
In this role, you will operate in a highly complex data environment, becoming the go-to expert on finance-related topics (controllership, treasury, credit risk, liquidity, capital, FP&A, etc.) within Internal Audit. You will routinely navigate large-scale, distributed data sources, connect information from multiple domains, and translate it into clear insights for the audit agenda.
As part of the Internal Audit, you will primarily work on audits, while also helping the team strengthen continuous auditing and predictive risk monitoring. This involves using data to identify patterns, outliers, and emerging risks, and then transforming those findings into actionable recommendations.
As products continue to grow within the company, the exposure to regulatory risks increases proportionally. Your pivotal role will be crucial in understanding how Internal Audit can support he company's healthy expansion by providing insights into key risk exposures and mitigation
You'll be responsible for
- Navigate Nubank’s complex data landscape in finance topics, understanding how data is generated, stored, and consumed across different systems (e.g., DataBricks, BigQuery, internal tools), and using this knowledge to design and execute robust audit tests.
- Perform audits on key finance processes (accounting, credit risk, liquidity, capital, treasury, FP&A, etc.), assessing data quality, process effectiveness, and control design/operation.
- Strengthen continuous auditing by proposing and implementing data-driven routines, indicators, and automated tests that allow ongoing monitoring of key risks and controls.
- Act as the Internal Audit ambassador on finance topics, leveraging your understanding of business strategy, regulatory requirements, and emerging challenges.
- Successfully engage stakeholders at all levels of the company, promoting a collaborative and efficient environment.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to assess and enhance the effectiveness of operations and risk management processes.
- Develop and implement robust audit plans and methodologies tailored to activities.
- Prepare and present clear, concise audit reports to senior leadership, detailing findings, recommendations, and strategic improvements.
- Facilitate data-driven discussions within the Internal Audit team and across diverse business sectors and regions (BR, MX, and CO).
