We’re building the future of defense manufacturing — and that starts with how we develop our leaders. The Program Manager, Leadership Development (Manufacturing) will own the strategy, design, and execution of comprehensive leadership training programs applied across all our manufacturing sites. This role is pivotal in bridging strategic leadership needs with on-the-ground operational realities, ensuring our production leaders are equipped with fundamental skills, advanced capabilities, and the vision to lead effectively. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of leadership development initiatives, from content creation and facilitation to training assignments, upkeep, and metric-driven continuous improvement. This position will require 30% travel.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Assess Leadership Development Needs: Partner with senior manufacturing, operations, and HR leaders across all sites to identify critical leadership skill gaps, define strategic development priorities, and align training initiatives with enterprise-wide objectives.
• Design & Develop Leadership Programs: Lead the creation and adaptation of foundational and advanced leadership development content, modules, and experiential learning activities specifically tailored for production and manufacturing leaders. This includes defining learning objectives, curriculum, and delivery methods.
• Program Ownership & Management: Own end-to-end leadership development project plans – from needs analysis and strategic design through delivery, resource allocation, and robust post-training evaluation across all sites.
• Facilitate & Deliver High-Impact Training: Directly facilitate engaging and effective leadership development programs for diverse cohorts of production and manufacturing leaders, fostering critical thinking and practical application.
• Establish Foundational Leadership Training: Develop and manage a standardized curriculum to ensure all new and existing production leaders complete essential foundational leadership training, covering core principles, management best practices, and operational leadership.
• Manage Training Logistics & Administration: Oversee the assignment and tracking of leadership training participation, maintain curriculum up-to-date, manage scheduling across multiple sites, and ensure seamless delivery of all program components.
• Track Outcomes & Drive Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement metrics to measure the effectiveness and impact of leadership development programs (e.g., leadership effectiveness scores, retention, performance improvements). Utilize data and feedback to continuously refine and optimize content and delivery strategies.
• Collaborate & Influence: Act as a key liaison between manufacturing leadership, Human Resources, Global L&D, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment, gain buy-in, and seamlessly roll out new leadership development initiatives across the organization.
• Enable Internal Facilitation Capabilities: Develop and facilitate "train-the-trainer" programs and provide resources to empower internal subject matter experts or existing L&D professionals to effectively deliver and reinforce leadership development content within their respective sites or functions.
• Partner & Expand Impact: Engage with external vendors, academic institutions, and industry experts to bring specialized leadership development solutions and best practices into the organization, strengthening our global talent pipeline.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support the manufacturing leadership development strategy for manufacturing and production.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 8+ years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, Organizational Development, or Leadership Development, with a strong focus on program management.
• Proven experience designing, managing, and delivering leadership development programs from concept to completion for diverse audiences.
• Strong facilitation skills with demonstrated ability to engage, inspire, and develop leaders at various levels.
• Exceptional program management and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple complex projects across different sites concurrently.
• Experience working within or directly supporting a manufacturing, production, or heavy industrial environment is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and build strong relationships with cross-functional and senior leadership teams.
• Data-driven mindset with a proven ability to define metrics, analyze training impact, and drive continuous improvement.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Lean Six Sigma.
• Experience implementing leadership development programs on a multi-site or global scale.
• Certifications in leadership assessment tools (e.g., 360 feedback, behavioral assessments).
• Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and learning experience platforms (LXP) for program administration and content delivery.

Instructional Leadership

• Delivering consistently high levels of achievement and learning for all students through rigorous and engaging programs and classroom instruction.

• Skillful and collaborative leadership of all teachers, staff, and school leaders, including supervision, coaching, and performance management oversight.
• Lead the Charter School’s teacher evaluation program and ensure all teachers have opportunities to meet their professional goals and are expertly executing ACCEL Schools instructional best practices.
• Evaluate teachers as per the State Ohio teacher Evaluation System (OTES).
• Overseeing the Charter School’s professional development program ensuring a strong, collaborative professional community, regular training opportunities and a meaningful summer experience.
• Creating a student support system that addresses students’ academic and behavioral needs holistically and involves parents, teachers, and all relevant staff. 

Organizational Leadership

• Manage the school’s daily operations, including: facilities management; information/instructional technologies; food services; student data management systems; academic assessment tools; office management; budget and fiscal controls; and, student recruitment and retention.
• With support from the Home Office/Operations Team, exercise full engagement on compliance, budget, procurement, student data, academic assessments, and campus safety.  Cooperate with the back-office service provider where necessary to meet all school administrative activities.  Make recommendations for improvement as necessary.
• Partner with Human Resources to execute a highly effective talent management system of recruiting, selecting, hiring, retaining, recognizing, and supporting all school site staff.
• Ensure non-discrimination practices in the selection process of faculty and staff by adhering to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) requirements.
• Collaborate with Home Office/Operations Team on the review and reporting requirements of the State, charter authorizing agency and Federal regulatory agencies, school sponsor, including the charter renewal process.
• With support from the operations team, oversee maintenance of school census data, attendance data, and other reporting requirements as mandated by the state or school sponsor. 
• With support from the operations team, implement the national school lunch program, transportation, audits, student application distribution, collection, approval, and verifications as applicable.
• Complete all accountability reports and oversee all student enrollment reports to the state; ensure compliance in all areas.
• Manage student recruitment and retention and achieve goals of retaining 85% of students annually.
• Understand and address all compliance items as they relate to the school’s Sponsor Agreement.
• Maintain a master school calendar to be posted for all stakeholders in all appropriate mediums (i.e. website, social media, student/parent guide, employee handbook).  Work with the Home Office staff to ensure all marketing and communications tools are up-to-date and active. 
• Engage in regular communications with the Home Office/Operations Team about the needs, successes and general operation of the school.
• Maintain open and ongoing daily and/or weekly meetings with the Regional Vice President
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students and colleagues.
• Assist with updating parent and student manuals, policies, and handbooks.

Community Leadership

• Act as the Charter School’s point person to the local community, effectively communicating the school’s mission and vision and soliciting input from parents and families about school performance, areas for improvement, and their needs.
• Understand, accept, abide by, and implement the school’s philosophy and mission statement in all school activities.
• Contribute to a positive climate and culture by exhibiting high professional standards.
• Engage and build strong professional relationships with parents, characterized by timely and regular communication, involving parents wherever possible in the life of the school.
• Cultivate partnerships with external organizations that enrich the culture of the school, as well as strong working relationships with other local districts and charter authorizers.
• Plan and conduct student and family orientations.
• Coordinate special projects, such as peer mentoring, service learning, and community involvement.

We’re looking for compassionate and motivated Telehealth Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselors to deliver virtual individual and group counseling sessions that support recovery and promote wellness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct intake assessments to evaluate Member readiness and determine appropriate level of care
• Facilitate group and one-on-one counseling sessions using Affect’s evidence-based curriculum
• Provide crisis support and coordinate appropriate referrals when needed
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation in our electronic medical record (EMR) system
• Collaborate with clinical supervisors on individualized treatment and discharge planning
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all relevant state regulations

POSITION TITLE: Technical Instructor (Cybersecurity)

LOCATION: Columbus, Ohio

Position Description:

Per Scholas is seeking a dynamic, team-oriented individual to serve as a Cyber Security Instructor. The Technical Instructor will play an important role in our organization’s mission, as they train Per Scholas students to be outstanding entry and mid-level technicians.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Classroom Facilitation

• Using a structured and approved curriculum, conduct a full-time, 15-week cycle of technical training to prepare students for entry to mid-level jobs in the field of Cyber Security. Technical training competencies include but are not limited to: hardware, software, networking, security, server, mobility, virtualization, and project management.  Class sizes range from 30-36 students.
• Facilitate in a highly interactive, hands-on style. The Per Scholas curriculum calls for a maximum of 1.5 hours of lecture in a 6-hour teaching day.  The rest of the time is dedicated to interactive, hands-on lab activities which are led by the Technical Instructor.
• Utilize in-house Learning Management System for assignments, tests, and real-time performance monitoring
• Manage and appropriately utilize a teaching assistant 
• Maintain regular office hours

Managing Student Performance 

• Provide students with ongoing feedback, conferencing, and performance appraisals.  Recognize any challenges early and work with coaches and students to overcome them.
• Coordinate closely with students’ career coach and learner support staff on enforcing program rules and promoting student success.
• Prepare student evaluations individually and in conjunction with a career coach.
• Participate in all required student progress meetings with other members of the team
• Monitor and enforce student class attendance, dress code, and other program policies
• Ensure classes achieve at least a 90% pass rate on all certification exams

Curriculum

• Provide input on tech curriculum and any changes needed to keep content current and relevant
• Provide input on labs, Learning Management systems, and program policies 
• Conduct real-time student data entry in Salesforce.com

Compensation 

For this role specifically, we are targeting a salary range of $65,000 - $70,000, where the difference in salary is typically determined by several factors, including geography in which the selected candidate resides, and alignment with qualifications and experience.

THE JOB

As a Sonographer, your focus is on ultrasound support for VEG hospitals and training facilities. This means working closely with our emergency doctors to provide same-day ultrasound scans for pets when they need it most. You’ll deal with a variety of patient types and scans, so being comfortable adapting to new scenarios and willing to learn new techniques and think outside the box are all part of your day-to-day. You’ll also assist in coordinating education opportunities and overall ultrasound training for your home and regional hospitals, inspire and motivate your fellow VEGgies to grow their ultrasound skills, and be ready to pitch in at the hospital whenever and wherever needed.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Perform ultrasound studies and facilitate ultrasound training at your home hospital and regional hospitals
• Maintain good relationships with and accept feedback from teleconsultation radiologists reading your studies (e.g., Antech, SonoPath, IDEXX, VetsChoice, etc.)
• Ensure all training content and activities are in alignment with VEG culture, mission, and vision, and represent accurate, up-to-date sonographic techniques
• Track doctor and nursing team skills with a VEG Ultrasound Certificate checklist
• Engage in self-reflection and program evaluation practices to modify and enhance VEG’s ultrasound training programs
• Regularly meet with the medical directors, nursing trainer, and director of radiology education to discuss program development, training objectives, and additional needs
• Regularly meet with the hospital manager and medical director to discuss implementation of new training protocols, training schedules, hospital training needs, and team concerns
• Coordinate weekly schedule to work on the floor shifts with the hospital manager and medical director and devote time to training responsibilities
• May assist in developing ultrasound curriculum material, such as PowerPoints, videos, simulations, and assessments to be implemented across the doctor and nursing team training programs
• May provide educational demonstrations for doctors and nurses at other VEGs, including ultrasound topics, such as abdominal, thoracic, cardiac, cervical, and musculoskeletal studies 

WHAT YOU NEED

• Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT/LVMT), diagnostic medical sonographer (RDMS), and/or equivalent experience (e.g., sonographer course certificates)
• 3+ years veterinary ultrasound experience
• Previous training experience and the patience to teach and develop doctors, nurses, and fellow sonographers

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Per Scholas seeks a proactive, technically skilled, and learner-focused individual to serve as a Satellite Teaching Fellow within the Training Department. Our Satellite location is located 10 minutes from our main Cincinnati campus. This role is essential in extending our instructional reach to satellite campuses, ensuring learners at these sites receive high-quality instruction and support. The Satellite TF will serve as the on-site instructional presence, collaborating with the lead instructor who is based at the main campus.

This position is ideal for an experienced Teaching Fellow ready to take on greater responsibility and independence in the classroom.

This position is considered full-time.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Classroom Facilitation

• Serve as the on-site instructional leader in a satellite classroom where learners receive direct instruction from a lead instructor broadcasting from another location.
• Using a structured and approved curriculum, assist the Technical Instructor in conducting technical training to prepare students for entry to mid-level Information Technology jobs. Technical training competencies include, but are not limited to, hardware, software, networking, security, servers, mobility, virtualization, cybersecurity, web development, quality assurance, and project management.  
• Facilitate a supportive, hands-on, and professional learning environment, ensuring smooth technical operations and learner engagement throughout each class session.
• Assist classroom facilitation in a highly interactive, hands-on style. The STF will consult with the Instructor before providing current students with review materials, videos, or other support.
• Collaborate with the lead instructor to plan instructional activities, ensuring alignment between campuses.
• The STF will form and lead study groups using the instructor's evaluations. The instructor and the students will determine topics. These study groups can be held during class (as the instructor approves) or before/after class.
• The STF will consult with the instructor to determine the activities for the present and upcoming days and assist in gathering the necessary tools to conduct the lectures and hands-on labs.
• The STF will understand the curriculum and be prepared to conduct a lesson if the instructor is temporarily unavailable due to PTO, technical issues, etc.

The STF may teach up to 1 week of classes if the Instructor is unavailable. The instructor is still responsible for outlining the lesson and lesson plans

• The STF will ensure that all equipment loaned to or used by the students is returned to the instructor, the storage closet, or the person it was borrowed from.
• Utilize the in-house PS Academy for assignments, tests, real-time performance monitoring, and assisting in entering student attendance/grades/scorecards. 
• The Per Scholas curriculum calls for a maximum of 1.5 hours of lecture in a 6-hour teaching day.  The rest of the time is dedicated to interactive, hands-on lab activities, which the Technical Instructor and STF lead.
• Class sizes range from 15-30 students.

Managing Student Performance 

• Provide students with ongoing feedback, recognize challenges early, and work with the instructor, coaches, and students to overcome them.
• Coordinate closely with students’ instructors and career coaches on enforcing program rules and promoting student success.
• Implementing individualized study plans for students that are struggling in the class.
• Participate in all required student progress meetings with other members of the team.
• Monitor and enforce student class attendance, dress code, and other program policies.

Curriculum

• Provide input on labs, Learning Management Systems, and program policies. 

Administrative

• Participation in staff meetings
• Conduct real-time student data entry in the PS Academy

POSITION TITLE: Software Engineering Instructor 

REPORTS TO: Manager Director

LOCATION: Columbus, OH 

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: 

Per Scholas is seeking a Technical Instructor to deliver high-end technical training to underemployed and unemployed community residents for purposes of higher economic development and improvement of quality of life. The Technical Instructor must be self-directed and self-motivated, and comfortable with making intermediate-level decisions to adapt processes and curriculum delivery based on current conditions. The Technical Instructor works in collaboration with peers with learner support and works with the Managing Director to change policies, procedures, and strategic planning. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO: 

• Deliver technology skills training and assessments to prepare students for entry-level to mid-level careers in the field of software development  Daily instruction, assessment administration, attendance, one-on-one tutoring, evaluation, and monitoring of individual student progress 
• Be Adept in learning new software tools, languages, and technologies as needed. 
• Work closely with the team to identify student needs, provide the necessary support, and establish individualized plans for student achievement 
• Tutor students as needed 
• Work with Career Advance team to ensure alumni are completing additional requirement
• Maintain Salesforce database with student scores and attendance 
• Work with Career Advancement team to ensure volunteers from the business community interact with students as classroom speakers, mentors, and small group coaches 
• Work with Career Advancement team to recommend students for particular employment opportunities 
• Monitor student compliance to attendance and other program policies, and address violations with students in a consistent manner. Work with Manager, Career Advancement to ensure documents such as probationary and termination letters are prepared and delivered. 
• Connect students with the resources necessary for them to overcome their individual barriers to maintaining success in school 
• Create, submit and maintain training curricula for approval and school files. 
• Work closely with the Program Design team to create student content on the PS Academy. 
• Instructors will need to commit a few hours per week to preparing lessons and materials, leveraging existing PS curriculum content. 
• Work closely with co-instructors or teaching assistants to provide students with meaningful and prompt feedback on their progress. 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO US: 

Professional Requirements 

• You have at least 2+ years of experience working on a software development team.
• You have working experience in both front-end and back-end development, and are fluent in:
• HTML5 and CSS3
• Full-stack JavaScript (strong JavaScript highly preferred)
• At least one JS MV* framework (Angular, Backbone, or React preferred)
• SQL databases (we generally use PostgreSQL)
• NoSQL (we generally cover MongoDB)
• Express/Node.j
• A Bachelor’s (or Master’s) degree in a related field is preferred but not required. 
• Experience with curriculum, syllabus development, and lesson planning.
• Experience with student assessment; and a talent to continuously evaluate the curriculum to identify what is working and what improvements can be made 
• Qualified candidates must be able to comfortably and frequently lift 50lbs

Fellowship for Founding School Leaders - Ohio

BES seeks a Fellow for our Fellowship program starting in August 2026 to serve as a founding school leader in Ohio. This BES Fellowship offers highly motivated leaders committed to transforming education the rigorous, multi-year training needed to design, found, and lead a high-achieving school that meets the unique needs of its community.

BES welcomes applicants from any Ohio region favorable for new public charter schools and aligned with authorizer priorities, with particular interest in leaders aiming to found schools in the Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati or Dayton metropolitan areas or in rural areas of the state. For regions with significant charter presence, applicants will be required to make a strong case for how a new proposed charter school will be viable and meet the needs of the community.

What You’ll Do 

The BES Fellowship for founding school leaders includes one year of training for Build Track Fellows followed by three years of Follow On Support to support leaders in building a high-performing, locally responsive school. Fellows in Ohio begin with an intensive training year, where they engage in over 300 hours of coursework on school design, leadership, governance, and community engagement, as well as diversity, equity, and inclusion. Fellows also conduct in-depth studies of effective schools across the nation and complete residencies at high-performing schools, all while developing a charter application and establishing a founding board.

In year two, the planning year, Fellows partner with a BES coach to refine their project management and leadership skills, hire founding staff, recruit students, and solidify their school vision. This dedicated coaching and cohort-based training, known as Follow On Support, helps Fellows bridge the transition from founder to school leader, preparing them to launch a strong, sustainable school. During years three and four, the first two operational years, leaders put their vision into action, welcoming their inaugural class, coaching teachers, and using data to drive academic success. By the second year of operation, they deepen the academic focus, serving a growing population of students, and build leadership capacity to support future growth, all while fostering an empowered, mission-aligned team.  In year three of operation and beyond, BES Fellow-founded schools can opt-in to other leadership and professional development opportunities from BES to support their school and strengthen their leadership bench.

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience, with instructional or instructional leadership experience required
• At least 2 years managing and supervising adults in a PreK-12 setting required, 2 years of school leadership experience preferred 
• Commitment to serving as a school leader in the proposed community for at least 10 years required 
• Ability to establish and activate local connections to support school enrollment
• Strong preference for candidates with at least 2-3 years of experience living or working in the proposed school region, especially those with strong ties to the community
• Clear, compelling rationale for the proposed school location

Additional Information

The BES Fellowship training year runs from August 2026 through July 2027, during which time BES Fellows will receive disbursements from their $100,000 grant. While grant disbursements will end in July 2027, the authorization process in certain regions can sometimes extend beyond that time. BES Fellows will continue to receive coaching and guidance from BES through this phase to help them navigate the entirety of the authorization process. In addition, BES will work with Fellows affected by this timeline to identify additional funding opportunities for Fellows, wherever possible.
