We are looking for a talented and inquisitive Principal Firmware Engineer / Team Lead whose drive for learning and determination for continuous improvement aligns with our ambitious, fast-growing and transforming company. Based in Melbourne, you will be a key player in the Research & Development team that designs the wearable tracking hardware that Catapult is famous for. You will be working with the most cutting edge technology and integrating components across our wearables and stadium infrastructure. Reporting to the Engineering Director, the primary responsibility of the Principal Firmware Engineer / Team Lead is to develop firmware solutions for the elite sports industry. You will be responsible for the firmware development cycle and to ensure that our products have a high level of quality.

Monks is seeking an experienced client-facing Data Engineer (Marketing & BI) to drive data and analytics delivery across marketing, audience, and e-commerce engagements for both small and large enterprise clients.
This is a hands-on role that blends business and data responsibilities. Your time will be split approximately 70% on client delivery and 30% internal (capability building, reusable assets, innovation, growth, etc). You’ll be focused on SQL-based data modelling and analytics delivery, and you’ll run client workshops and stakeholder management, while also building out solutions in the broader BI space, executing technical implementations across a range of analytics and cloud data platforms.
The ideal candidate has a history of working with modern data products (e.g. BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift), and a proven track record of experience with the modern data stack based on cloud technologies, including data transformation, orchestration, warehousing and modelling, as well as BI and dashboard design using tools like Looker Studio, Power BI or Tableau.

About the role:

About the team
This team sits at the core of Kick’s user experience, owning and evolving the frontend platform that powers every interaction across the product. Their mission is to build a high-performance, resilient, and scalable web foundation that enables teams to ship faster while delivering seamless experiences to millions of users in real time.
Going beyond feature development, they define architecture, establish engineering standards, and strengthen reliability across the entire frontend ecosystem, optimising rendering strategies, improving deployment safety, and ensuring the platform performs under extreme traffic, live events, and failure scenarios.
Acting as a force multiplier across Kick engineering, they drive consistency, elevate code quality, and remove systemic bottlenecks at scale, directly impacting speed to market, platform stability, and overall user experience.

The Viewer Engagement and Experience feature development team powers the heart of Kick’s platform and the real-time, high-volume features that keep millions of viewers coming back. We own the core customer experience: seamless live stream viewing, rapid fire live chats, and the real-time community interactions that make Kick, Kick.
From delivering lightning fast chat messaging across massive global events (think 4M+ concurrent viewers) to architecting systems that scale, this team pushes technical limits daily. You’ll tackle complex backend challenges, build and ship user-facing features at scale, and help evolve our architecture as we migrate toward high-performance Golang based services.
If you want to build products used by millions the moment you deploy, and solve some of the most demanding concurrency, performance, and scalability problems in technology, this is where you can make immediate impact.
