About the Role

Security at ROLLER is entering a critical phase of growth! As we scale globally, handle payments, and manage sensitive customer data, the need for strong, scalable security engineering becomes increasingly important. This role is the first dedicated step toward building that capability, allowing us to move beyond reactive security and invest in proactive, engineering-led improvements.

This hire will play a key role in strengthening how we detect, respond to, and prevent security threats across our cloud infrastructure, endpoints, and applications. Core Security Operations

• Monitor, triage, and respond to alerts across Wiz (cloud security) and CrowdStrike (EDR), improving signal-to-noise and detection quality over time
• Investigate anomalies across cloud and endpoint environments, identifying root causes and driving resolution
• Support IT with identity and access management (IAM), authentication setup, and endpoint security (including MDM)
• Continuously improve how we detect, prioritise, and respond to security events

Security Projects & Initiatives

• Design and implement improvements across ROLLER’s security controls, tooling, and workflows
• Drive data classification and data loss prevention (DLP) initiatives

About You

As a vital member of our Product & Tech Team, you will utilize your expertise to work within our ecosystem of applications, services and infrastructure using a combination of C#, T-SQL and harness the multitude of services offered by AWS including Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, SES and SQS.

We’re seeking backend engineers with proven senior-level experience to join the Equal Experts network. 

As a member of the team you will work alongside our clients to help design and deliver solutions to meet business requirements and help to improve the effectiveness of the clients' software delivery capability. And of course, all this happens in a consultative, collaborative fashion – in keeping with our values. 

You should have extensive experience delivering software on commercial projects backed up by extensive knowledge of agile practices such as TDD, pair programming and CI/CD to name a few. This role involves working in teams that use modern agile technical practices - including continuous integration and deployment and fast feedback loops - to deliver timely and pragmatic solutions, as well as helping others to do their jobs in a more effective way.

Responsibilities 

• Working with the client and the team to determine system requirements and how best to deliver them. 
• Delivery of software using agile (pair programming, TDD, CI/CD, etc) practices 
• Automation of system infrastructure and deployments. 
• Production support of systems you are working on (You build it, you run it). 
• Advocating agile practices to the client organisation. 
• Mentoring client team members.

Required Skills 

• Extensive, diversified experience developing, maintaining and operating enterprise scale distributed systems.
• Expert level knowledge of your chosen programming language and the associated tooling. Experience with other languages is highly desirable.
• Hands-on experience with test driven development and other forms of automated testing.
• Strong understanding of the principles underlying agile development and an understanding of the various approaches that can be effective in realising these principles in different contexts.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively while working remotely with globally distributed teams.

We’re looking for contract Data Engineers with proven senior-level experience to join the Equal Experts network. Our Data Engineers are highly skilled in creating data pipelines for ingest, transformation and storage of data, usually at scale, and are familiar with standing-up analytics clusters. 

This role involves using modern agile technical practices - including Continuous Integration and Deployment, TDD, and XP - to deliver timely and pragmatic solutions, as well as helping others to do their jobs in a more effective way. Responsibilities 

• Working with the client and the team to determine data processing and access needs and how best to deliver them. 
• Creation and support of highly available data pipelines and storage solutions (e.g. data warehouses). 
• Delivery of software using agile (pair programming, TDD, CI/CD, etc) practices. 
• Automation of data infrastructure and deployments. 
• Advocating agile practices to the client organisation. 
• Mentoring client team members.

Required Skills 

• Significant experience working on data pipelines, platforms and projects.
• Experience in developing solutions in one or more of the main Cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure). 
• Strong background in at least one programming language, Python or Scala preferable.
• Working with a variety of databases, data warehouses and distributed file systems in production environments.
• Strong experience in SQL and data modelling.
• Exposure with data processing at scale.
• Working with source control and infrastructure as code (Git/Github, Terraform, ansible etc.) and CI/CD tools.
