Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Full‑Stack AI Application Engineer with strong expertise in native iOS and VisionOS development to design and deliver advanced AI‑powered mobile and spatial computing applications. This role focuses on building intuitive, high‑performance user experiences that leverage computer vision, machine learning, and immersive 3D interfaces to support engineering, manufacturing, and operational workflows.

You will own the application layer end‑to‑end while collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless integration across mobile, spatial, and web platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain native iOS (Swift/SwiftUI) and VisionOS applications for AI‑enabled tools and operational workflows
• Develop immersive experiences on spatial and extended reality platforms for visualization, guided workflows, and interactive 3D environments
• Implement on‑device machine learning inference for real‑time analysis and visualization using mobile hardware capabilities
• Develop camera‑based workflows optimized for challenging physical environments and guided user interaction
• Architect offline‑first mobile solutions with local data storage and background synchronization
• Integrate mobile and spatial applications with backend services and web platforms for unified user experiences
• Build scalable interfaces for real‑time notifications, alerts, and status updates
• Contribute to full‑stack web applications supporting analytics, monitoring, and reporting use cases
• Optimize application performance, reliability, and usability for extended daily use
• Collaborate with product, data, and infrastructure teams to align application design with backend systems and AI pipelines

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Experience

• A minimum of 5 years of full‑stack software development experience
• At least 3 years of native iOS application development with production‑level deployment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing VisionOS or spatial computing applications
• Background building mobile applications for industrial, operational, or field environments
• Experience integrating computer vision or AI capabilities into mobile or AR applications
• Familiarity with 3D rendering, spatial visualization, or immersive UI concepts
• Experience supporting products through full lifecycle from concept to production
• Exposure to enterprise mobile deployment or device management environments

Basic Position Summary:  Assist the Superintendent and Project Manager in managing all aspects of a construction project including the field operations and project administration.  This position is predominately based in the field, entry level and applicants need to be open to traveling all throughout the Hampton Roads area, depending on where the job is. 

Responsibilities/Functions

• Assists with pre-construction activities as needed:  construction planning and design; interpretation of design and drawings
• Has a clear understand specifications, drawings, standards, and subcontractor & supplier scope of work, etc.
• Demonstrates, communicates, and reinforces all Company safety policies and procedures.
• Interprets specifications, designs and drawings and prepares quantity takeoffs
• Prepares drawings and sketches to support construction work, change orders, estimates, etc.
• Verifies work-in-place quantities for invoicing/pay quantities.
• Maintains submittal logs and timely receipt and review of submittals and shop drawings
• Ensures craft timecards are completed accurately, reflecting hours worked and tasks worked on; verifies cost codes to all purchases, timecards, contracts, equipment time and any other item involving cost
• Maintains as-built drawings; posts RFI, bulletin and ASI as appropriate
• Maintains RFI logs
• Participates in constructability reviews and value engineering functions
• Develops, implements and administers project engineering procedures and other work documents, tracks and logs documentation
• Takes weekly jobsite photographs
• Works with the Safety Department to ensure that project safety records are accurately maintained
• Assists in quality control activities
• Assists in preparing project status reports and participates in project status meetings; assists in development of meeting minutes
• Assists in project close-out activities
• May support estimates as needed
• Performs additional assignments per supervisor’s direction

Essential skills and experience

• 4-year civil engineering degree or equivalent technical training and related experience
• 2-4 years of field construction experience
• E.I.T. preferred but not required
• Ability to read and interpret plans
• Excellent computer skills
• Basic understanding of cost analysis
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to travel as required

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to Carry tools and equipment, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and see and hear well (either naturally or with correction), stand; walk, (stand for long periods of time) handle, or feel; use arms and hands to reach for, handle and manipulate objects. The employee must frequently work or walk on uneven ground and is required to always wear steel toed boots. It is mandatory that the employee wear approved personal protective equipment. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Perform a variety of duties while exposed to outside elements or confined spaces. Repeat tasks of short duration according to set procedures and evaluate information using measurable. Follow set procedures and standards.

Job Summary:

The Project Manager is responsible and accountable for the profit/loss of the project(s) under his/her supervision through effective contract administration, planning/scheduling, cost control and overall project leadership.

• Work closely with the Superintendent to ensure that the project is built safely in accordance with design, budget, and schedule. 
• Work closely with the Superintendent regarding labor, equipment, subcontractors, construction means and methods, and scheduling for the project. 
• Build effective relationships with the customers, subcontractors and vendors.
• Support the estimating staff to prepare bids.
• Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills when dealing with third parties and working through daily operations of a project.

Requirements:

• BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Licensed Professional Engineer and Certified DBIA (Design Build Institute of America) preferred.
• 7 – 10 years project management experience in heavy highway or heavy civil construction with an emphasis on project financial and schedule management.
• Experience with estimating heavy highway or heavy/civil construction projects.
• Computer literacy required including Microsoft Office and P6.  
• Experience with Viewpoint and HCSS is preferred.
