About the Team: Mission Engineering at CHAOS turns simulation output into decisions. We run large-scale modeling and simulation campaigns across all warfighting domains and the full kill chain, against named threats, in operationally relevant scenarios, at the speed engineering, operational, and customer teams actually need. Every CHAOS engineering trade, pursuit, and customer engagement is anchored in rigorous, physics-based, tactically relevant, and statistically valid analysis, and we're scaling the function to meet that bar across a growing product portfolio.
About the Role: On the Mission Engineering team at CHAOS, you will design, develop, execute, analyze, and validate models and simulations to deliver operational analysis and system performance assessment across defense, national security, and commercial programs. You will have freedom to move rapidly and use your expertise to apply rigorous statistical methods to analyze simulation outcomes, quantify system effectiveness, and communicate actionable insights to technical teams, leadership, and customers. Your work will directly inform critical decisions around sensor performance, mission planning, weapon effectiveness, and platform capability evaluation.
This is a foundational hire. You will shape how CHAOS does mission analysis from day one, and you will have the freedom to move fast.

About the Role: You will own statistical methodology for the Mission Engineering team at CHAOS. You'll design experimental constructs that extract meaningful signals from broad trade studies and computationally expensive simulation runs, build the analytical pipelines the team relies on, push the methodological state of the art on how we characterize uncertainty, build surrogate models, and communicate quantitative results to decision-makers. You will work shoulder-to-shoulder with engineers and experts in every domain to ensure that simulated, experimental, and tactical results presented by CHAOS are rigorous, reproducible, and actually deliver answers that our teams, customers, and partners need

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $123,200 and $182,360 per year. We're hiring Product Leads. Strategic, AI-fluent technical operators who own delivery for high-stakes projects from end to end and become trusted advisors to senior client stakeholders along the way. This includes client engagements, internal ventures, product-market fit exploration, and enterprise execution.
This is a hybrid role: part strategic advisor, part technical PM, part AI architect, part founder-in-training. You'll sit at the table with senior leadership, run complex AI projects across generative AI, automation, agent orchestration, and custom software, build real products, and potentially spin one off. AE supports startup spinouts, so you'll have the opportunity to become CEO or CTO of a venture, either one we already have in the works or one you help create.

The Role
The materials that go into K2's solar arrays — from module interconnects and adhesive systems to cover glass coatings and substrate composites — directly determine how much power they produce, how long they last, and how fast we can build them. Collaborating across the engineering and production teams, you will own the success of the materials selections and their implementations that will be key to our successful satellite operation.

Client-facing moments come with the territory. You'll need to ask sharp questions, explain what you're seeing in plain language, and earn trust quickly.

Salary range
A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $100,000 to $150,000. To ensure pay fairness, the successful candidate will be offered a salary within the estimated salary range based on a number of considerations including but not limited to: skill set; experience and training; certifications; and other business and organisational needs.

The Role
You will be responsible for designing some of the highest power systems ever flown in space. You will be able to develop a broad range of power electronics devices ranging from power switching to power conversion components capable of operating in the harshest space environments. In your first 6 months you will prototype your first high power devices and execute environmental and performance testing to refine your designs. The Role
K2’s plan doesn't stop at satellite buses, however. By operating our own vehicles and manifesting regular rides to space, K2 is uniquely positioned to design, test, and deploy-at-scale ambitious optical payloads in MEO, GEO, cis-lunar, and deep space on unprecedented timelines. The satellite bus is the platform – the payloads are the mission.
There are any number of space-based optical payloads that can generate value here on Earth (ex. forest fire detection, climate and atmospheric monitoring, etc.) and further planetary science in our solar system (ex. hyper-spectral imaging, laser-altimetry) -- all of which require payload-specific optics benches with spectral / spatial filters, beam-shaping optics, image scanning / stabilization mechanisms, electro-optical sensors, fiber-to-free space interfaces, etc. coupled to large aperture, diffraction-limited telescopes for collecting and transmitting optical energy from the UV to the infrared.
As an Optical Systems Engineer, you will contribute to defining how K2 designs, manufactures, tests, and deploys optics benches across K2’s optical payload suite. You will be involved in every phase of your optical system’s life cycle, from initial feasibility and architectural trade studies through manufacturing, ground testing, and on-orbit commissioning. You will own the success of piece part, component, and subsystem testing across electromechanical systems. You will lead projects and help stand-up infrastructure to support the core testing and production infrastructure. In your first 6 months, you will define production test campaigns, design and build test setups, and be hands-on with flight hardware. The Role

The Account Manager, Paid Search is responsible for paid search performance, along with client management and delegation of production resources.
