The AI Security Institute is the world's largest and best-funded team dedicated to understanding advanced AI risks and translating that knowledge into action. We’re in the heart of the UK government with direct lines to No. 10 (the Prime Minister's office), and we work with frontier developers and governments globally.
We’re here because governments are critical for advanced AI going well, and UK AISI is uniquely positioned to mobilise them. With our resources, unique agility and international influence, this is the best place to shape both AI development and government action.
The ability to effectively evaluate and monitor AI systems will grow in importance as models become more capable, autonomous, and integrated into society. If models can detect and game evaluations, obscure their reasoning, or behave differently under observation, the safety claims that governments and developers rely on become unreliable. Understanding and addressing these risks is essential to ensuring that oversight of advanced AI systems keeps pace with their capabilities.
The Model Transparency team is a research team within AISI focused on ensuring that evaluations, assessments, and monitoring of frontier AI systems remain reliable as models become less transparent. We research how and why oversight is declining – through phenomena such as evaluation awareness, unfaithful chain-of-thought reasoning, and changes in model architectures – and develop methods (including white and black box methods) to detect, measure, and mitigate potential issues. We share our findings with frontier AI companies (including Anthropic, OpenAI, DeepMind), UK government officials, and allied governments, and publicly to inform their deployment, research, and policy decisions. We also work directly with safety teams at frontier labs, contributing to safety case reviews and helping improve their alignment evaluation methodology.
Our recent work includes auditing games for sandbagging, reproducing natural emergent misalignment from reward hacking, and identifying open-weight language models that game propensity evaluations.
We're looking for Research Scientists and Research Engineers for the Model Transparency team with expertise in technical AI safety – such as interpretability, capability or alignment evaluations, model transparency – or with broader experience with frontier LLM research and development. An ideal candidate would have a strong track record of high-quality research in technical AI safety or adjacent fields.
We're interested in candidates along the spectrum between Research Engineers and Research Scientists. The application form will ask you to indicate which role you lean towards.
The team is led by Joseph Bloom, advised by Geoffrey Irving. You'll work with talented, mission-driven technical staff across AISI, including alumni from Anthropic, OpenAI, DeepMind, and top universities. You may also collaborate with external research teams including those at frontier AI labs, METR, and FAR.
We are open to hires across a range of experience levels.
This role requires three days a week in person, with flexibility for occasional periods of remote working.
The work could also involve:

Annual salary is benchmarked to role scope and relevant experience. Most offers land between £65,000 and £145,000 made up of a base salary plus a technical allowance (take-home salary = base + technical allowance). An additional 28.97% employer pension contribution is paid on the base salary.

The Internal Fraud function of the Fraud, Error, Debt and Grants Function at the Cabinet Office processes details of civil servants who have been dismissed for committing internal fraud, or who would have been dismissed had they not resigned. The Cabinet Office receives the details from participating government organisations of civil servants who have been dismissed, or who would have been dismissed had they not resigned, for internal fraud. In instances such as this, civil servants are then banned for 5 years from further employment in the civil service. The Cabinet Office then processes this data and discloses a limited dataset back to DLUHC as a participating government organisations. DLUHC then carry out the pre employment checks so as to detect instances where known fraudsters are attempting to reapply for roles in the civil service. In this way, the policy is ensured and the repetition of internal fraud is prevented. For more information please see - Internal Fraud Register.
We may be able to offer roles to applicant from any nationality or background. As such we encourage you to apply even if you do not meet the standard nationality requirements (opens in a new window).

As a HR Director and member of the Enterprise Sales leadership team, you will shape and deliver the people strategy for EMEA Enterprise Sales (inc. Israel), coach leaders, and guide organisational and talent decisions critical to business success. The role requires the ability to navigate and balance differing perspectives, building strong, credible relationships and influencing effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
This role requires a highly hands-on approach: staying close to leaders and employees, supporting day-to-day people decisions using sound judgement and experience, and maintaining trust while operating in a fast-paced, commercially driven environment.
In parallel, the role carries a regional, cross-functional lens, requiring a strong understanding of local market dynamics, employment legislation, employee relations, and benefits across EMEA. This is a role for someone who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves as well as operating strategically, while remaining closely involved in the day-to-day issues that matter to the business and to employees.
We aren't looking for a traditional HRBP. We want a partner who views AI and automation as the ultimate leverage for HR. You don’t need to be a data scientist, but you should be someone who reads about LLMs, experiments with productivity tools, and dreams of an HR department where technology handles the routine so people can handle the exceptional!

Ready to revolutionize healthcare, making it faster and more accessible than ever before?
How we started:
Founded in 2013 by Dwayne D’Souza, HeliosX was built on a simple but powerful idea: healthcare should be easier to access, faster to receive, and centred around the individual. From day one, we’ve grown without external funding; scaling profitably through technology, disciplined execution, and deep medical expertise. What started as a challenger idea has become one of the most significant healthcare platforms operating globally today.
Where we are now:
We’ve earned the trust of millions of people worldwide through category-leading products and well-known brands, including MedExpress, Dermatica, ZipHealth, RocketRX, and Levity. A key driver of our success is vertical integration; we operate our own manufacturing and proprietary products, led by in-house medical teams, researchers, and pharmacists at the top of their fields.
In 2025, HeliosX treated more than 1.7 million patients globally and reached £781m in revenue, representing +337% year-on-year growth and cementing our position as the clear market leader in the UK. That growth translates into real-world outcomes: our weight-loss treatments helped patients lose 8.5 million kilograms of excess weight in 2025 alone, contributing to an estimated 1,300 fewer cardiac events. This is growth with measurable, life-changing impact at scale.
Today, we operate across four international markets, with successful launches in Germany and Canada and continued expansion in the US. We were also recently recognised in the Sunday Times Top 100 fastest-growing tech companies, further validation of both our momentum and our ambition.
Where we’re going:
2026 is a step-change year. Our ambition is to reach £1.6bn in revenue, expand from four to eight global markets and significantly broaden our condition and treatment portfolio. Over the coming years, you’ll help shape HeliosX into a truly world-leading healthcare partner; one that combines scale, speed, and clinical rigour to redefine how personalised care is delivered. Joining HeliosX now means building systems, teams, and products that will define the next decade of digital healthcare, and doing work that genuinely improves lives, at global scale.
There’s never been a more exciting time to join HeliosX. Come be a part of making our dream of easier and faster healthcare a reality!
About the role:
We need Data Engineering Managers who are builders at heart. We want people who thrive on shipping high-impact work, think like product owners, and excel at clearing the path so their teams can execute at their full potential.
At HeliosX, Data Engineering Managers drive the execution engine. You will be deeply embedded in the work to shape how your teams build, challenge them to improve, and help them succeed. This is a leadership role first. Your impact comes primarily through your teams rather than your own code output.
What you'll be doing:
Who you are:
Why work with us?
At HeliosX, we want to improve healthcare for everyone, and to do this we need a team of brilliant people who share that ambition. We are currently a diverse team of engineers, scientists, clinical researchers, physicians, pharmacists, marketeers, and customer care specialists committed to our mission - but we need more talented folks to join us, if we want to achieve our global ambitions!
Aside from working with our all-star team, here are the other benefits of coming on board:
