We are seeking an enthusiastic Consultant in Adult Psychiatry to work full time hours per week for our client’s team based in Leeds, Yorkshire. This vacancy is available on a locum basis for the successful candidate to start immediately for a short-term contract.
What will your responsibilities be?
As the successful candidate, your key responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments. You will evaluate adults to understand their mental health challenges, considering their personal history and symptoms. Based on these assessments, you will formulate individualised treatment plans tailored to each person's needs and goals.
You will lead a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with various healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, person-centred care. Your role will also involve overseeing therapeutic interventions, including medication management and crisis interventions.
You will be responsible for regularly monitoring and evaluating the progress of individuals. You will adjust treatment plans as needed to optimise care. Additionally, you will contribute to risk assessments and management strategies, ensuring the safety and well-being of those in your care. This role requires both clinical expertise and a compassionate approach.

Setting: 21-bed women’s locked rehabilitation service (personality disorder & complex mental health)
A specialist women’s mental health rehabilitation service is seeking a full-time Consultant Psychiatrist to join an established and supportive multidisciplinary team. The service provides care for women with complex mental disorders — including those with trauma histories and personality disorders — within a structured, recovery-focused locked rehabilitation environment.
You will act as the Consultant Psychiatrist and Responsible Clinician, leading on assessment, formulation, treatment planning, and MDT collaboration. The service has excellent links with local NHS pathways and is easily commutable from major surrounding cities.
Provide Consultant / RC-level clinical oversight for patients
Lead MDT ward rounds, risk reviews, and strategic clinical meetings
Offer expert psychiatric formulation and input into treatment planning
Fulfil Responsible Clinician duties for detained patients under the Mental Health Act
Contribute to clinical governance, service strategy, and management meetings
Deliver in-house teaching and supervision, especially to junior medical staff
Maintain CPD and meet revalidation requirements
Medical qualification with MRCPsych (or equivalent)
CCT in General Adult Psychiatry or Forensic Psychiatry
Experience working in inpatient settings with patients detained under the Mental Health Act
Background in trauma-informed care and/or personality disorder services is highly desirable
Strong leadership skills with previous involvement in service management
Understanding of change management, mental health legislation, and contemporary issues in psychiatry

The Recovery Hubs are fostering a rehabilitation-focused environment, underpinned by a 24-hour therapeutic approach.
What will your responsibilities be?
In this role, you will conduct comprehensive Occupational Therapy (OT) assessments with a strength-based, personalized approach. You will develop and implement goal-led outcome planning, work alongside support workers to ensure individuals achieve their outcomes, and regularly review progress. Additionally, you will lead discharge planning for individuals returning to their homes, perform moving and handling assessments, including risk assessments, and identify solutions to reduce risk. You will provide professional supervision and line management under a Disability Team Manager, shape and develop the service, support student education, supervise new graduate Occupational Therapists, maintain up-to-date case notes and records, and participate in training and development activities to ensure continuous professional development (CPD).
